All instructors are licensed by NJMVC, ensuring they meet stringent requirements, including background checks and completion of defensive driving courses. Furthermore, for the safety of both students and instructors, all vehicles are equipped with dual controls. In Kentucky, all of our instructors are licensed and certified by the Kentucky State Police.

If you’re a beginner we can teach you from step one everything you’ll need to know to get a driver’s license.
  • Behind-the-Wheel Training: Behind-the-wheel driving lessons are offered for students in Jefferson, Oldham and Bullitt Counties. These lessons provide practical, hands-on experience under the guidance of certified instructors. Each lesson lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
  • Refresher Courses: For seasoned drivers seeking to refresh their skills or address specific areas of concern, ABC Driving School offers customized refresher courses. If you just need a refresher, schedule a one hour session.
  • Road Test Preparation: ABC Driving School provides targeted training to prepare students for their driving road test, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared to pass.
  • DOL Approved Testing Center: ABC Driving School & Testing Center is a DOL approved Testing Center. For seasoned drivers, we’ll only administer the tests you require.
  • Online Programs: ABC Driving School Inc is a reputable driving school located in Essex, MD, offering a range of comprehensive driver education programs, including a 36-hour Drivers Ed DIP class, a 3-hour Drug and Alcohol class, private lessons, and MVA test scheduling. They also provide online driver improvement and safe and sober programs, as well as convenient online payment options.

What to Expect During Lessons

  • Positive and Supportive Instruction: Instructors are committed to teaching students in the most positive and supportive manner possible.
  • Individualized Attention: We do not offer any group lessons. Lessons are conducted one-on-one to ensure personalized attention and tailored instruction.
  • Use of Training Vehicles: All lessons are given in the ABC training vehicle.
  • Convenient Pick-Up and Drop-Off: Free student pick up and drop off is available in most situations.
  • Lessons in Various Conditions: Lessons are conducted rain or shine.
  • Certificate of Completion: We issue students a Certificate of Completion on their last lesson. Most insurance companies offer discounts for students who have completed a driver’s training with ABC Driving School.

Requirements and Policies

To ensure a smooth and productive learning experience, ABC Driving School has established the following requirements and policies:

  • Learner’s Permit: Students must have their learner’s permit (or driver’s license) and must wear eyeglasses or contact lenses if corrective lenses are required on their permit or license. Students need to bring their learner’s permit (or driver’s license from another state or country) and eyeglasses or contact lenses if required. Students who will be receiving their Graduated License will need to bring their driver’s log or note from their parent or guardian stating that student has completed 50 hours daytime and 10 hours nighttime driving.
  • Cancellation Policy: We require a minimum of 48-hour notice for cancellations. A $75 a cancellation fee may be charged for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson. Cancellations (or no-shows) made less than 2-hours before the lesson will be charged the full lesson fee.
  • Road Test Eligibility: Yes, if you purchase a ­­2, 3 or 4 lesson package you can take the road test on your last lesson if you are eligible.
  • Age and Permit Requirements: You must be at least 16 and have had your permit for at least 180 days if you were under 21 when you got your permit, and for 30 days if you obtained your permit when you were 21 or older.
