You can reactivate it later if you enroll in the qualifying number of units and pay your Student Fees. You must also pay the $50 Transportation Fee to qualify for a card.

Registering Your EasyPass Card

When you first get your Student EasyPass, you need to register your card. You can register your EasyPass card at clippercard.com. Have your card number ready. You can do that by saving your Card number/keeping your Welcome Letter in case you lose your Card. Registering your Clipper card protects your card balance and allows you to set up an online account at clippercard.com.

Important Considerations for EasyPass Users

Keep your Card long-term. Keep your Card safe and secure. Caution: If you load your EasyPass onto your smartphone, it will cause the physical card to deactivate. Be careful storing your EasyPass card in your wallet - don’t let it touch other magnetized cards; it can cause your EasyPass to malfunction. Clipper charges a $3 Balance Transfer Fee to replace your EasyPass Card and to transfer cash or other agency value to your new EasyPass Card. After receiving your replacement card, be sure to go online to clippercard.com to check your Clipper Card account that an EasyPass is listed. Call Clipper Customer Service at (877) 878-8883 to request a replacement card. You’ll be charged a $3 fee (pay with a debit or credit card).

Important Note for WCCUSD High School Students

While Pass2Class only has funds to offer a single month pass to each student per year, West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) administers a program that provides passes every month of the entire school year to high schools students (grades 9 - 12) in WCCUSD who also qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch program. If you qualify, please apply to that program, not Pass2Class. Applications will be available online starting on July 1, and running until program funds are all used.

Benefits of Public Transportation

Taking transit is good for the environment. In California, the transportation sector accounts for about 50 percent of the state’s greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing the number of vehicles on the road is critical to achieving climate change goals and clean air standards. Taking transit is linked to higher levels of physical activity. Studies have shown that people who use public transportation for any reason were less likely to be sedentary, taking 30% more steps and walking 8.3 more minutes per day than people who mostly drove.
