Agganis Arena Parking at Boston University: A Comprehensive Guide

Agganis Arena, a versatile venue on the campus of Boston University, hosts a wide array of events, from NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey to concerts and special events. As a key component of the John Hancock Student Village, alongside the Fitness and Recreation Center and student dormitories, the arena offers 290,000 square feet of space and can seat up to 7,200 for concerts, conventions, and shows, and 6,300 for Ice Hockey. Opened in January 2005, the arena has become a popular destination, making parking a crucial consideration for attendees. This guide provides detailed information about parking options for events at Agganis Arena.

On-Site Parking Facilities

Agganis Arena Garage and Lots A & C-2

The Agganis Arena parking garage, along with Lots A and C-2, are generally open to the public for transient parking daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., excluding holidays and event days. Payment for parking can be made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.

Important Considerations for Boston University Employees:

Arena parking spaces in Lots A and C-2 may be used as supplementary parking by Boston University employees with active parking permits at no additional cost when there are no Arena events or performances scheduled. Most performances and sporting events take place during the evening and on weekends, thus allowing employee permit parking during the majority of normal work time. However, Boston University employees may not use Agganis Arena Lots A and C-2 during scheduled events and 90 minutes prior to the start of weekday and weekend evening performances and sporting events. In preparation for some events, Agganis Arena parking lots will be closed to Boston University employees during the day of some weekday and weekend matinee performances and other University events (Spring Open House, Commencement, etc.). Advance notice of upcoming events will be provided to ensure cooperation from Boston University employees and campus visitors.
