Andrews University Scholarship Opportunities: A Comprehensive Guide
Andrews University offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds and academic interests. These scholarships aim to support students in achieving their educational goals, making higher education more accessible and affordable. A common misconception about scholarships is that they are only available for the smartest students with the highest GPAs. Now while it is true that many scholarships are merit-based, there are just as many that aren't. Many scholarships are offered based on need, residency, ethnic background, major, and more. In fact, there are scholarships out there for just about every kind of student. This article provides a detailed overview of the various scholarships available at Andrews University, covering eligibility criteria, award amounts, and application processes.
Andrews Partnership Scholarship (APS)
The Andrews Partnership Scholarship (APS) is a significant financial aid opportunity available to a wide range of students. The APS is available to US residents, undocumented and international students admitted to undergraduate programs on the Berrien campus; students admitted to online and affiliate campus undergraduate programs are not eligible. The Undergraduate Admissions Office will determine the scholarship amounts for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
Eligibility and Award Amounts
Freshmen that have successfully met the admission requirements of Andrews University will receive a scholarship of $6,000 - $12,000 per year, for four years. Freshmen are eligible for an additional annual $2,000 special APS for either (only one) of the following: 1. ACT composite of 30-33 or 2. SAT Critical Reading + Mathematics combination score of 1330 to 1480 (writing not included) or 3. a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar. Transfer students (domestic & Canadian students transferring 25 or more semester credits) to Andrews University who are full-time undergraduates and in their first degree program may be eligible for an Andrews Partnership Scholarship. Transfer students do not qualify for the additional APS for the ACT or SAT scores since their APS is based on their cumulative college GPA.
Additional Financial Support
In addition to the Andrews Partnership Scholarship, Andrews University makes Andrews Gift monies available to help satisfy the student's need as determined by the financial aid information. Endowments and other restricted scholarship funds from alumni and friends of the university provide specially named scholarships as part of the Andrews Partnership Scholarship. Selected students are offered, by their school, a named scholarship based on academic performance, declared major and career goals.
APS for High-Achieving Students
Andrews University rewards the scholars listed above with a special Andrews Partnership Scholarship that covers 100% tuition for four years for incoming freshmen with a cap of 144 credits and limited to a degree. Andrews University rewards APS/SAT scholars with a special Andrews Partnership Scholarship that covers 100% tuition for four years for incoming freshmen with a cap of 144 credits and limited to a degree. Andrews University rewards National Merit/National Achievement Finalists and National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars a special Andrews Partnership Scholarship that covers 100% tuition for four years for incoming freshmen with a cap of 144 credits and limited to a degree. To confirm receipt of the scholarship, submit appropriate records to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. All gift aid received by the awardees, including a university scholarship or grant, cannot exceed the cost of full tuition for up to 16 credits per semester, book charges of up to $550 per semester, plus General and recognized course fees. When total gift aid is more than the costs mentioned above, the university scholarship or grant is reduced until gift aid equals the costs. All gift aid is added in the following order: external scholarships, merit aid, and then need-based aid. Should the external scholarships and merit-aid portions exceed the tuition, books and fees limit, boarding students may include the minimum costs of room and board in the calculation.

General Graduate Scholarship
We recognize that the decision to pursue graduate-level studies indicates an important commitment of time and resources. The Graduate Scholarship does not apply for staff members that are using the free class benefit from Andrews University. The scholarship is awarded if the student meets the minimum admission scores for the GRE or the GMAT, achieves the higher scores listed below and has an admission GPA equal to or greater than 3.0. Graduate students who meet the appropriate GRE/GMAT scores and cumulative GPA are eligible for the Graduate Scholarship. Students are required to take the GRE/GMAT and submit official transcripts prior to admission. A new graduate student may take the GRE/GMAT test multiple times during their first semester for the purpose of increasing their scholarship for the second and following semesters. In that case, the highest score will count toward the GRE/GMAT scholarship. In order to retain the Graduate Scholarship, students are required to maintain the minimum GPA for their program.
