From Tri-State Normal College to Trine University
The story of Trine University began with the vision of Angola residents who sought to establish a local institution for teacher training. Thus, Tri-State Normal College was founded in 1884. The university's name changed again in 2008, this time to Trine University, in honor of trustees Drs. Ralph and Sheri Trine.
