Understanding University Policies and Regulations

Leveraging EndNote for Research Management

The offices of Information Technology, Sponsored Research and Programs and the Library bring you EndNote, the most powerful tool for managing research. Thomson Reuters EndNote gives you the tools to search, organize, write and share your research. EndNote makes managing research easy for anyone- from the novice researcher publishing their first discovery to the senior professor preparing a manuscript or writing a grant proposal. With EndNote, your research is accessible from anywhere. EndNote includes access to your library - with unlimited reference and file storage, annotations, and group sharing.

Accessing and Installing EndNote

Please click here and select the operating system you have (Arcadia Login Credentials will be required). For Mac, just download the installer and install. For PC you will need to download the 'Download for EndNote X9.zip' file and extract it to your computer. The file contains both the installer and the license file.

Onboarding and Orientation: A Checklist for New Students

This checklist of Arcadia University admitted student next steps will guide you through the onboarding and orientation process. Once your student account is activated, you can log-in to MyKnight Portal to see which items have been completed. Unless otherwise noted, please reach out to your admissions counselor for any questions. Contact information can be found in MyKnight Portal.

Key Steps for Admitted Students

This step must be completed before all other steps.
Submit your Housing Application - Use the MCR Housing tile in your PortalGuard account (you must activate PortalGuard to submit a housing application). Students who submit the housing application after the priority application deadline of May 15 may be placed on a housing waitlist.
Complete First-year Pre-registration course in Canvas (placement tests)-Use the Canvas tile in PortalGuard. This course contains information needed to register for your courses, including placement exams and other forms. Please review the course to better understand the time needed to complete each section. The course can be completed in multiple sessions. Transferring from a 2- or 4-year institution?
Register for a Summer Welcome Day - Orientation is required for all new students.

Managing Finances and Student ID

Use your Self Service tile in PortalGuard to view your bill and add an authorized payer (if applicable) From Self Service, click on ‘Finances’ and then ‘EBILL/EPAY.
Your KnightCard is your student identification. Click here to learn more about the GET app.

Accessing the Patient Portal

Use your Patient Portal tile in PortalGuard. Please note: this is not available until Mid-July.

Submitting Transcripts

Transcripts should be sent directly from your high school to Arcadia University.

Connecting to the Campus Network: AU-Splash

AUSplash is our campus Wi-Fi used to connect smart devices, such as gaming consoles, smart TVs, smart homes (Alexa, Google home etc.), and media devices (Firestick, Roku etc.).

Connecting to AU-Splash

Step 2: From there click on properties for AU-SplashGuest. Next it will redirect you to the properties page for that Wi-Fi.
Step 3: Open a web browser on your device. Note: It's important to ensure that you are connected to AU-Splash each time you want to connect to your private network.
Congratulations! You have successfully registered your WPA2 account, and connected your device to a private network using AU-Splash. Remember to use the provided WPA2 password for all your devices when connecting to the private network.
