AVLI's Core Offerings

AVLI provides avenues for students, teachers, and schools to flourish through various programs and resources.

For Students and Parents

AVLI delivers online and blended coursework tailored for students. Through a network of member schools, it offers a variety of program options to meet student needs and interests. Students enrolled in AVLI courses will participate in lectures, discussions, projects, and assessments online. Much of the work is done independently on students’ own time utilizing learning tools (discussion boards, blogs, wikis, group projects) that depend on active participation. When possible, students will be provided the opportunity to pursue their AVLI course work during the school day during a free period. AVLI courses are designed to be challenging and are appropriate for students capable of succeeding in honors-level courses or above. Only courses not currently offered at Bishop Canevin HS are open for enrollment through the AVLI program. At times, when course scheduling conflicts occur, students may be permitted to enroll in a AVLI course to replace a desired course.

For Teachers and Professionals

AVLI facilitates professional learning, collaboration, and teaching opportunities for educators. Its network is filled with exceptional teachers, and the goal is to maximize their impact.

For Schools and Members

AVLI works with and through schools. As a member-based organization, its student and teacher programming supplements and strengthens schools' offerings, solves problems, and opens doors.

Addressing Unique Circumstances

Sometimes things don't go as planned. A student (or teacher) is struggling and requires an extended leave. AVLI works with schools on a custom coursework plan to help students and schools focus on the things that are most important in that moment.

Financial Education Course: A Detailed Look

AVLI offers a financial education course designed as a low-cost solution for AVLI member schools in meeting their state’s financial literacy requirements. Students work independently through a series of course modules. Successful completion of all modules and correlating assessments indicates student competency. Though this course is designed to allow individual students to work at their own pace, that doesn’t mean they are completely alone. Technical support is always available through AVLI. In addition, Arrupe Virtual will send regular reports to host schools, students, and parents to help them monitor student progress. There are 6 learning modules in the course followed by a synthesis exercise.
