Stella Sung is a renowned composer, Pegasus Professor, trustee chair professor, and director of the Center for Research and Education in Arts, Technology and Entertainment (CREATE) at UCF. Her career exemplifies the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and the importance of fostering creativity across different fields.
Sung's journey began with a degree in piano performance from the University of Michigan, followed by a master's degree in composition and a doctorate in piano from the University of Texas at Austin. A turning point in her career came during a fellowship at the McDowell Colony, where she dedicated herself to composing music and realized her true passion.
Sung has composed music for several award-winning documentaries, collaborating with filmmakers to enhance the storytelling through music. She has also been a part of UCF for many years, witnessing its exponential growth and evolution.
