Unlocking Knowledge: A Comprehensive Guide to the ASHA Learning Pass

The ASHA Learning Pass offers a convenient way to access a wealth of professional development resources. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the ASHA Learning Pass, covering individual and group subscriptions, accessing course content, managing subscriptions, and other important details.

Understanding the ASHA Learning Pass

The ASHA Learning Pass is a subscription service that provides access to a wide range of learning materials offered through the ASHA Learning Center. These materials can include courses, webinars, and other resources designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals in communication sciences and disorders.

Accessing Courses and Resources

All courses are available on the main catalog page, with the newest ones appearing at the top. To find courses that are relevant to your interests and needs, you can use the search bar located at the top of the page. Additionally, you can filter the catalog by various criteria, such as profession, work setting, client age, topic area, format, experience, instructional level, and Special Interest Group. These filters are accessible through the left menu navigation. If you are specifically interested in live webinars, you can find them on the live webinars subpage of the catalog.

Managing Individual Learning Passes

If you have purchased your own Learning Pass, you can manage your subscription through the "Manage My ASHA Learning Pass" page in your ASHA account. This page contains important information about your subscription, including the option to cancel it. To cancel your subscription, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the cancellation link. Upon cancellation, your subscription will not renew, and no future payments will be processed. However, you can continue to use the Learning Pass and all its benefits for the remainder of the access period for which you have already paid.

Group Learning Pass Subscriptions

Activating Group Subscriptions

The ASHA Learning Center automatically designates the person who purchases a course in quantities of two or more as the group leader. To activate the subscriptions for group members, the group leader needs to copy and send the auto-enroll link to each person in the group. Each member will use this link to unlock access to their subscription. It is important to copy the entire link, as it can be quite long. The number of individuals the system will allow to use the auto-enroll link matches the number of items purchased. If the group leader intends to use one of the subscriptions themselves, they must also click on the auto-enroll link to unlock their Learning Pass within 14 days. Afterward, click the "Start Course" link.

Monitoring Enrollment

Group leaders can track which members of their group have unlocked their subscriptions by logging into the ASHA Learning Center and navigating to the "Admin" tab. On this tab, find the row labeled "ASHA Learning Pass Subscription" and click the "Edit" link. Then, go to the "Products" tab, where you will see two numbers under "Enrollment." The first number indicates the number of people who have clicked on the auto-enroll link to unlock their subscription, while the second number represents the total number of subscriptions purchased. To view the names of the individuals who have unlocked their subscriptions, click on the first number under "Enrollment." It is crucial not to make any changes or edits in this Admin area.

Subscription Duration and Renewal

Group ASHA Learning Pass subscriptions are valid for one year, starting from the date of purchase. To determine when your group's subscriptions will expire, log into the ASHA Learning Center and go to the "Admin" tab. Find the row that says "ASHA Learning Pass Subscription." The "Creation Date" indicates the date of purchase, which is also the first day the group Learning Pass is active. All subscriptions expire one year from the purchase date. Group subscriptions do not auto-renew.

Adding Subscriptions

You can add additional subscriptions to an existing group at any time. However, it is important to note that additional subscriptions will end on the same date as the original set of subscriptions, and prices cannot be prorated.

Important Considerations for Group Subscriptions

All subscriptions are nontransferable and nonrefundable once unlocked.

Group Webinars (Prior to January 6, 2020)

It's important to note that as of January 6, 2020, the ASHA system no longer allows the sale of group webinars. However, if you previously purchased one, you and your group can still access it until its expiration date. For group webinars, only the group leader has access to the full content of the webinar. The group leader can access this content by logging into the ASHA Learning Center, finding the course on the "Enrolled" tab (the course number will have -GRP at the end), and selecting "Start Course." The auto-enroll link will give each participant, including the group leader, access to the handouts and completion form, which is used to earn ASHA CEUs/PDHs. Any number of participants can use the auto-enroll link in this case.

Troubleshooting

If you do not receive the auto-enroll link email, check your spam or junk folder. If you will be using one of the subscriptions yourself, you need to click on the auto-enroll link and then the “Start Course” link to unlock your Learning Pass within 14 days.

Discounts

Individual subscribers are eligible for a discount for ASHA online conferences. However, group members are not eligible for this discount, as they have already received a discount on the subscription purchase price. ASHA does offer discounted group rates for online conference registration for groups of 4 or more, unrelated to the Learning Pass.
