Incline Ninja Warriors

Swim Lessons and Aquatic Programs

Each swim lesson session includes four 30-minute classes held Monday-Thursday at the Burnt Cedar pool. The Mini Lifeguard Camp is offered to residents of Incline Village (participants must have beach access) and introduces aquatic safety through discovery and play, both in and out of the water.

Sports Camps

Incline Village Parks & Rec offers Youth Skateboarding Camps with The Village Skate School, with sessions for skaters of all abilities.

Tennis Camps

Weekly tennis camps focus on stroke production, techniques, match play, and tennis rules through specialized activities and drills. A camp offers an introduction to pickleball that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.

Soccer Camp

The 2022 Nevada 2A Coach of the Year Peter Salazar and his 2022 State Championship team members will give every camper the best 5 days of their summer. All players will receive a soccer ball and a camp t-shirt.

Basketball Camps

Led by Incline High School head coach and former Division 1 college assistant basketball coach Tim Kelly, these camps are a town tradition. Every player receives a basketball and t-shirt.

Volleyball Camp

A Youth Volleyball Camp, coached by Robert Power, is designed for young athletes looking to learn and improve their beach volleyball skills.

Paddleboard Camp

The Summer Paddleboard Camp is offered to residents of Incline Village (participants must have beach access). Participants will engage in land and water-based games and exercises that increase SUP skills/knowledge and overall fitness level. Participants must be able to swim.

Baseball Camp

Incline Village Parks & Recreation continues its youth summer baseball camp, led by former Division 1 player Jackson Overlund.

Lifeguard Camps

The Jr. Lifeguard Camp is offered to residents of Incline Village (participants must have beach access). This program provides beach safety, swimming, and paddling instruction and encourages teamwork, safety, and leadership.

Rowing Program

Students will learn both styles of rowing (sweep and scull) and have the opportunity to race against one another. This program is offered to residents of Incline Village (participants must have beach access).

Tennis Camp (High School)

Designed for high school players with some tennis experience, this intensive one-week camp focuses on technical instruction, skill-building drills, and conditioning.

College Park Apartments at Alpena Community College

College Park Apartments, located at 675 Johnson Street in Alpena, provides four-bedroom townhouse units for students of Alpena Community College. These apartments offer accommodations in a safe, supportive academic community, located near classes, the ACC Library, Student Services, and recreational facilities.

Features

College Park Apartments have a traditional exterior to create a residential atmosphere. The development consists of sixteen four-bedroom townhouse units. With the completion of the new addition in August 2026, the development will consist of 24 four-bedroom townhouse units with two apartments featuring an additional handicap-accessible room.

Lease Terms

College Park Apartment leases will be for a nine-month term beginning August 19, 2026, through May 7, 2027.

Aspen Institute College Excellence Program

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program is engaged in an initiative that reflects the next wave of community college student success reforms: a focus on post-completion outcomes. Colleges selected for the network work closely with Aspen, expert coaches, and field experts over multiple years on comprehensive reforms with one overarching goal: substantially increasing the number of community college students entering and completing programs that lead directly to good jobs or to completion of a bachelor’s degree.

Data Analysis and Strategy

The network engages college leaders and teams in intensive data analysis, which includes setting a living wage for the students in their region, and classifying programs based on outcomes for graduates, either in transfer and bachelor’s attainment or directly in the workforce. Based on learnings from the data, leaders and teams identify strategy areas with aligned quantitative goals. Colleges receive differentiated support during the development of strategy plans and college implementation based on institutional needs and progress in the network.

Program Revamp

After participating in Unlocking Opportunity, one of the pilot colleges revamped its agronomy program, adding new skills that led to a doubling of program enrollment and higher wages for graduates. Students in the child care program are steered to transfer to bachelor’s degrees in elementary education, which also helps address the local need for more teachers.

Resources

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program (Aspen) and the Community College Research Center (CCRC) developed resources for community colleges seeking to (1) increase the number of students in high-value programs that lead directly to a well-paid job or to transfer and a bachelor’s degree and (2) decrease the number of students in lower-value pathways that are unlikely to prepare them for good jobs or further education at the bachelor’s level. These resources were developed during their work with the ten Unlocking Opportunity network colleges, and are made possible thanks to generous support from Arnold Ventures, Ascendium Education Group, ECMC Foundation, and the Strada Education Foundation.

Aspen Morning Program (AMP'd)

Every two weeks, the students write, produce, and perform a variety-type show for the entire Aspen Community. As Aspen Morning Program (AMP'd) is gearing up to begin, the audience enjoys coffee or refreshments from the Student-run Bear’s Café. The 8th-grade students stage the performers, running the sound and lighting board, and the performers of the day prepare.

Student Civic Organization (SCO)

The intent of the Student Civic Organization (SCO) exists to create an edifying experience that inspires continued civic and community leadership.

Student Ambassador Program

The Student Ambassador Program provides leadership development opportunities for 3rd through 8th-grade students. Student ambassadors are selected based on their commitment to the school’s mission and vision and strong academic and social skills. Participation in this program is through faculty selection and involves an application process, an interview, and extensive training.

Shark Tank Competition

As an 8th-grade student, there is the opportunity to participate in a real-life Shark Tank competition. Each individual student creates their own business where they come up with an idea, create a product or service, a business plan, and a go-to-market strategy.
