Attuned Education Partners: Cultivating Equitable Access to Educational Excellence
Attuned Education Partners is a national organization dedicated to enhancing the capacity of PK-12 school systems, with the overarching goal of ensuring that all students have equitable access to educational excellence. Composed of experienced practitioners committed to educational equity, Attuned collaborates with school and school system leaders to foster improved outcomes for all students, particularly those farthest from opportunity.
From Vision to Impact: A Tailored Approach
Attuned Education Partners understands what it takes to go from vision to impact and has tailored its approach accordingly-combining empathy with rigor in equal measure. This approach acknowledges the complexities of educational reform and emphasizes the importance of both understanding the needs of students and educators and implementing evidence-based strategies.
Building District Capacity: Aligning Leaders for High-Quality Instruction
Attuned Education Partners builds district capacity by aligning leaders from the classroom to the cabinet around a shared vision for high-quality instruction. Through required, central office leader-led professional learning, Attuned Education Partners develops curriculum and content expertise across principal managers, principals, and coaches, who then provide turnkey support to teachers. Coaches facilitate lesson internalization and ongoing implementation support to increase instructional quality and student impact. Between sessions, Attuned Education Partners leads collaborative classroom walkthroughs to norm on instruction, identify targeted next steps, and monitor impact.
Addressing Equity: Closing Achievement Gaps
Attuned Education Partners' professional learning and services are designed to advance equity and have helped partner systems close achievement gaps for historically underserved students at three to five times the rate of their states. They support educators in connecting high-quality instructional materials to equity, utilizing culturally responsive teaching practices, and building a shared instructional vision. Leaders are equipped to coach and monitor effectively. Rivet Education evaluates the three sections marked with the checkmark icons.
Professional Learning: A Layered Approach
Attuned Education Partners' professional learning intentionally takes a layered approach across role types in a school system. They partner with central office leaders to create and/or refine anchor resources for implementation such as roles and responsibilities, measures of success, content-specific instructional vision, pacing guidance, assessment map, and tools for internalizing curriculum, observing curriculum lessons, and analyzing student work on curriculum-embedded tasks. Their professional learning scope and sequence incorporates role-specific yet aligned objectives (for example, around curriculum internalization) for each participant group (e.g., teacher, coach, etc) and engages these anchor resources as well as ongoing implementation data/trends contextualized by role.

Richmond Public Schools Partnership: A Case Study in Early Literacy
Attuned has partnered deeply with Richmond Public Schools on early literacy for the last two years. After piloting UFLI with Attuned's support and seeing strong results in 2023-24, the district scaled implementation in 2024-25. In the first year of a new statewide early literacy assessment, RPS doubled the state’s rate of BOY to EOY growth, with outsized growth for historically disadvantaged students. In 2024-2025, Richmond Public Schools outpaced Virginia’s early literacy growth rate, doubling the state’s pace of improvement.
Richmond Public Schools' success demonstrates the impact of Attuned's approach. The partnership highlights the significance of "difference makers": leaders, coaches, and teachers aligned around coherent materials, intentional training, and continuous progress monitoring.
Prioritizing Equity Through Professional Learning
Attuned Education Partners builds capacity of PK-12 organizations to drive educational equity and excellence for underserved students. Their team of practitioners - including former teachers, coaches, principals, principal managers, curriculum directors, and Cabinet-level leaders - partners with school systems to prioritize, tailor and implement a diverse set of proven practices with a specific focus on high-quality instructional materials. Their professional learning services deeply center equity, resulting in partner systems experiencing gap closure between Black and brown and white student outcomes at 3-5 times the rate of their states. Their professional learning deepens shared understanding of the relationship between high-quality instructional materials and equity. It also equips teachers to facilitate student engagement with the materials using culturally responsive teaching practices and instructional leaders to effectively coach and monitor. They attend to equity in the experiences of professional learning participants through seeking feedback, which they disaggregate and analyze, on the extent to which they created a welcoming and inclusive environment.
