Scholarship Opportunities for International Students

To alleviate the financial burden, Australia offers a range of scholarships and grants to international students, including government-funded programs and university-specific scholarships.

Government Scholarships

For example, in 2022, Australia offered 2075 such scholarships and grants to students from 27 developing countries. Application closing dates vary by country, typically falling in April.
  2. Destination Australia: This scholarship supports international students studying at regional universities, offering funds to tertiary providers who then assist students with grants. Despite being regionally focused, these universities offer noteworthy research and growth opportunities. Regional Australia provides a relaxing lifestyle, low cost of living, and personalized university classrooms.
  3. Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP): This program is a government-funded grant designed to promote doctorate and master's degree courses. The RTP covers tuition fees, provides a stipend for living expenses, and offers allowances. Students must apply through their university's scholarship wing. The AGRTPS pays a stipend at the standard rate set by the Australian Government of $35,010.00 pa tax free (2025 full time rate).
