Minnesota Aviation Career Education (ACE) Camp

Minnesota Aviation Career Education Camp (Minnesota ACE Camp) was founded in 1991 by a group of industry professionals in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) to promote, educate, and expose high school students to a wide variety of aviation careers. For more than 30 years, over 2000 students have graduated from Minnesota ACE Camp, many of whom are now industry leaders, professionals, counselors, and volunteers for our 100% volunteer-operated camp.

Hands-on Experience and Career Exploration

Minnesota ACE Camp's summer camp program offers guided tours, guest speakers, hands-on activities, demonstrations, static displays, and the chance to pilot different types of aircraft with FAA-certified flight Instructors. The camp program aims to bridge the gap between classroom and career, helping students visualize themselves in different aviation and aerospace jobs. Staff members, camp counselors, and mentors at Minnesota ACE Camp are there to supervise, ensure the safety of the students, and teach the values of camaraderie, inclusiveness, accountability, and mutual respect in a team-building environment. As aviation evolves, so will our camp programming as we prepare our students for ongoing changes in the industry.

Nonprofit Status and Community Impact

On April 6, 2020, Minnesota ACE Camp became an officially recognized 501(c)3 Nonprofit. As a nonprofit, we've been able to expand our reach by seeking grants and donations from aviation professionals in our community who share our commitment to nurturing the next generation. In 2022, the Board of Directors established The Elevate Award, a continuing education scholarship to aid aviation professionals at every stage in their careers. The growth of our organization reflects the shared goals within the community and industry to inspire and support the next generation of aviation professionals as they pursue their dreams.

What once began as a summer operation has grown into a year-round organization whose mission extends far beyond camp. We eagerly seek partners who share our goal to create pathways for students from diverse backgrounds, fostering inclusivity and diversity throughout the aviation industry. Minnesota ACE Camp has become one of the most recognized aviation camps in the country thanks to our local aviation community, sponsors, donors, and volunteers.

Take Flight Summer Camp

Our Take Flight Summer Camp is an advanced camp for high school students, intended for those who are seriously interested in and are considering pursuing their private pilot certificate. Campers will participate in accelerated ground school sessions covering the following topics: principles of flight, flight controls, flight instruments, weight and balance, performance, weather, airport operations, airspace, and navigation. After each session, campers will apply their instructional knowledge in our Redbird Flight Simulation Lab. adventure!

University of North Dakota's Aviation Summer Camp

The John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota (UND) is recognized throughout the world, and a leader in atmospheric research. for aerospace education in the world. flight simulators, classrooms, and aircraft fleet.

Camp Details and Requirements

The camp has a charge of $400. Full payment is required to hold your registration. If you cannot attend, a full refund is available up to March 1st. available up to May 1. No refund will be available after May 1. required. You are responsible for transportation to Grand Forks, North Dakota. airlines serve Grand Forks. from the airport in Grand Forks. halls on campus. however, there will be no driving of personal vehicles during camp week. period. Friday. be completed on Thursday night. to accommodate late departures.

Auburn University Aviation Camp

Are you thinking about a career in aviation as a pilot? Engineer? Unmanned aircraft operator? Airport manager? Air traffic controller? Corporate aviation? The air transportation industry connects the world's economies and the demand for aviation professionals has never been stronger. Working with faculty and staff from Auburn's Aviation Center and Auburn University Regional Airport, the College of Liberal Arts Department of Aviation, and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering Department of Aerospace Engineering, participants will experience a fun-filled week of various hands-on activities and exploring the world of aviation. Field trips, guest speakers, simulator, aircraft, and flight line activities will provide a wide variety of new and eye-opening educational experiences. Camp participants will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn's resident dormitories, eating at campus dining facilities, and enjoying evening social and recreational activities.

Refund Policy

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. Your camp cost, less the $200 non-refundable deposit, will be refunded if you cancel by May 16, 2025. At any time after that date, refunds (less the $200 non-refundable deposit) are made for medical reasons only and all such requests must have a signed statement from your physician. If a medical cancellation request is not received by the first day of camp, a refund is not issued. Refunds are not given to campers who voluntarily leave camp or who are sent home for disciplinary reasons. The University reserves the right to cancel any program.

Aggie Aviation Adventure

At Aggie Aviation Adventure you will not only learn about aviation, you’ll actually fly in and have a chance to briefly be at the controls of one of our airplanes and a helicopter. Additionally, you will fly in our new 737 simulators and in our 3-axis motion small aircraft simulator, fly drones, work on a project in our aviation maintenance lab, see a jet engine run-up, build a chuck glider, and much more! The price of the camp includes flights in the aircraft, all meals, sleeping accommodations, t-shirt, water bottle, drawstring bag and other swag, and all other materials and activities associated with the camp. Aggie Aviation Adventure is designed for youth ages 14-18.

Biotechnology Summer Academy

Biotechnology Summer Academy exposes high school students to the numerous career opportunities available in biotechnology. Students are mentored by USU faculty who work in various disciplines. The week’s activities include communication workshops, lectures and demonstrations, laboratory training, field trips, mentoring and research. The program is an intensive five-day internship involving a biotechnology-related project.

Engineering State

A fun-filled 4-day summer camp for students entering their senior year of high school. Participants explore how engineering has changed our world and learn what earning a degree in engineering is all about. Many of our graduates have majored in engineering and now have successful, fulfilling careers. Students should be between their junior and senior year of high school and have a strong interest in math, science and technology. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA to attend.

USU STARS! GEAR UP Summer Camps

USU STARS! GEAR UP summer camps offer students an immersive experience in a college environment. In addition to staying in campus dorms, most activities take place in classrooms, labs, and recreational areas on campus. Each camp is designed specifically for USU STARS! GEAR UP to inspire learning, explore new ideas, and help students do better in school, while preparing for future education and career goals. Camp activities are engaging and encourage teamwork. Students meet mentors and students from other schools.
