Bahrain Bayan School (BBS), established in 1982, is an independent, national, co-educational, bilingual school catering to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school is accredited and licensed by the Bahrain Ministry of Education, under the Bahrain Government law, accredited by The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and by the Bahrain Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA) as an “outstanding” School. Primary School Curriculum

Throughout Primary School, the curriculum emphasizes students achieving mastery in both English and Arabic. Grade offerings throughout the primary program are based on the AERO standards in English, Math, and Science, aligned with research-based trends in worldwide curriculum development. Bahrain Bayan School also offers a strong Arabic curriculum and the required government syllabus in Social Studies, Religion, and Government. All curricular offerings are supported by appropriately aligned resources and the school’s library with a collection of 38,000 items (approximately 17,800 of those items in Arabic and 20,650 in English).

Middle and High School Curriculum

Throughout the secondary school, the curriculum remains committed to students achieving mastery of English and Arabic. These standards are aligned with research-based trends in worldwide curriculum development. AERO provides a framework for curriculum consistency across grades K-12 and for a clearly planned sequence of curriculum. Teachers collaborate and develop units of study grounded in the standards so that students experience complete, in-depth, and thorough courses. Bahrain Bayan School also offers a strong Arabic curriculum and the required government syllabus in Social Studies, Religion, and Government. The Middle School program aims to prepare students in grades 6, 7, and 8 for the college preparatory curriculum in High School. They are encouraged to do research, class projects, and presentations in both English and Arabic.

All High School courses are considered college preparatory; therefore, all students at Bayan School are enrolled in a college preparatory program of study. For students in grades 11 and 12, the International Baccalaureate (IB) is available. These classes use the IB curriculum as prescribed by the IB World Organization. Students can choose individual IB classes combined with college preparatory classes, or they can choose to enroll in the full IB Diploma Program.

Pre-School Program

The Pre-School Program at Bayan School promotes positive relationships among all children and encourages each child’s sense of individual self-worth and belonging as part of a community. The program is a dual language program, and students alternate classroom instruction in these languages every other day. In addition, within the program, the subjects of music and physical education (PE) are taught by qualified instructors. Teachers’ thorough knowledge of each child helps them to plan appropriately challenging curricula and design instruction that responds to each child’s strengths and needs. The program maintains collaborative relationships with each child’s family to support children’s development in all settings.

BBS Community Services and Initiatives

Bahrain Bayan School is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for its students and community. Several initiatives and services demonstrate this commitment:

Bayan Care

The Bayan Care Insurance Plan is now free of charge. This scheme covers student’s tuition fees (at any point until graduation) in case a student’s legal guardian passes away or has a permanent total disability through an accident or due to sickness, and therefore wouldn't be able to pay for the student’s tuition fees. The Finance department are to bear all costs associated with the “Bayan Care Plan”, effective immediately.

Afternoon Activities Supervisor

The School has assigned employees specifically for afternoon hours to supervise the flow of visitors during the students afternoon sports, and also to ensure the security and safety of our students while attending or going to sport activities.

Bayan School offers a fast online Live Chat communication system provided to its Bayan Community. It is available live during working hours as well as offline through instant messages.

Online Payment Portal

An online payment method is provided in addition to the existing process to improve the receivables and increase operational efficiency and accuracy in bookkeeping. The school aims to reach the parents’ comfort and satisfaction.

ERM Bookstore

The Educational Resources and Materials bookstore started operating September 2019. It is constructed to streamline the distribution of student textbooks and related materials of grades 1 to 12.

Bayan School Mobile Application

The Bahrain Bayan School Mobile Application is fully functional to ease operational services, communication with students and parents. Parents are able to pay online, view events, check school’s facilities, contact “Bayan on Call”, and more.

AlRomaihi Innovation Hub

The Al Romaihi Innovation Hub is a community-centered learning workspace that stimulates creativity and innovation. The Bayan School community and even the general public, will have the opportunity to explore and invent products using the facilities in the Innovation Hub. The Innovation Hub consists of the Maker Space that includes CNC machines, 3D printers, and Laser cutters; Robotics Lab expanded to VEX; Multimedia Studio; and Learning Commons. Also, an extensive digital library from four international databases are readily available for everyone’s perusal. Each class in the Primary building will be provided with “Maker Space Tools Set” that will offer the students a unique hands-on experience of technological and scientific activities.

Texas Instrument Training

The Bahrain Bayan School is now a proud Texas Instruments Training Center, training teachers from the region in using the TI in math, science, and STEM education.

Life Skills Courses

Life-Skills subjects are provided to ensure that our students are well-rounded individuals that give back to their society. Courses include: home economics, carpentry, design technology, cooking, and clay sculpting.

AEA

AEA is an academic department that is dedicated to ensuring that your child is provided with additional instruction during school time to help them be successful in school. At BBS, the school believes that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and able to express themselves. AEA will strive to provide your child with the education that they deserve.

BayMUN

Bayan MUN (BayMun) is a student-oriented initiative that established in 2008-2009 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This student-oriented event is now known as the biggest event in Bahrain Bayan School and is most looked forward to by all students of Bahrain. BayMun started off with only a few councils and have come a long way since; with 17 councils and being the first THIMUN affiliated Model United Nations in the country.

School-Wide Advancements

ECO LAB 360 (UAE’s Zayed Sustainability Prize 1st Place Winning Project 2017)

EcoLab 360 is an educational platform that involves a greywater and food waste recycling systems that is connected to the School Canteen on campus. The platform also aims to educate student about sustainable practices and technology, which revolve around five key pillars which include: reduce, reuse, recycle, raise awareness, and renewable energy.

Bin Faqeeh “Zakat Al Elm” Building

The Bin Faqeeh Zakat Al Elm Building, designed innovatively by Bayan Alumni, encompasses a Library and study quiet zones for the Middle and High School students.

In-House Doctors (Infirmary)

A Highly acclaimed Doctor and 4 Nurses are focused on providing the highest level of attentiveness on improving the children’s overall health and well-being in addition to providing regular health awareness sessions for our Bayan Community which includes students, parents and staff.

Increased Safety and Security

Introduction of new ID cards during the academic year of 2016-2017 to help monitor safety and security of the students. ID cards were improved to be used as a payment method in the Cafeteria and the Uniform Shop. In addition, they are also used to monitor attendance for Middle School and High School students.

Preschool Campus Dr. May Bint Sulaiman Al Otaibi (Bahrain Bayan School)

The new state of the art “green” Preschool building, built on international standards, that offers quality education and instill discipline in toddlers in an eco-friendly learning environment, thereby shaping the minds of future generations.

Primary School Complex

The new state-of-art Primary School complex is built with fine and innovative architecture and interior design to enhance the learning experience for its students. It serves from Grade 1 to 5.

Estedamah

The program aims to provide an opportunity for retirees to share their expertise and engage in various areas. Such as: psychological and moral preparation for coexistence with the new life, benefiting from their capabilities, experiences and skills, and presenting successful experiences in order to achieve social responsibility.

Shuttle bus

Shaded shuttles tops have been set up in each campus. All Faculty and Staff are welcome to use the service and commute through buildings without the need to move their vehicles from their car park spaces. The shuttle will run around the clock from the Main Campus, Primary School Complex, Pre School and back.

Al Ansari Hall

Multipurpose Hall to host various events with Bayan School Primary Complex. For seminars, lectures, functions, indoor activities and exam center.

Alumni Outreach

The Alumni Outreach helps in having:
