Understanding the Cost of Attendance at Bethlehem Academy

Bethlehem Academy (BA) strives to provide a comprehensive educational experience. Understanding the costs associated with attending BA is crucial for families considering enrollment. This article breaks down the various components that contribute to the overall cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, and other potential expenses.

Tuition and Included Costs

Bethlehem Academy aims to keep tuition increases low, with the Board approving only a 1% increase for the upcoming year while also working to expand scholarships and programs each year. The BA Annual Fund drive is ongoing, with gifts accepted through June 30, 2023, to support this goal. The annual tuition covers a range of essential resources, ensuring students have the necessary tools for their studies.

Moravian Academy includes most costs in the annual tuition, including day field trips, iPads, MacBooks, and textbooks. For Moravian families, Tuition Refund Plan coverage agreement confirms the cost rate of 1.05% for the Tuition Refund Plan for the 2025/26 academic year.

Additional Expenses

While tuition covers many aspects of a BA education, some additional costs may arise.

Uniforms and Dress Code

Students in Grades 1-8 on the Historic Downtown Campus and K-Grade 8 on the Swain Campus are required to wear uniforms to school. Students in Grades 9-12 have a dress code, and the cost of these items should be factored into the overall expense.

Transportation

Bus transportation is available and provided by your local School District if the district is within ten miles of the campus your student attends. A list of districts that provide bussing can be found on the transportation page.

Extended Care

Extended Care is available to students in Preschool - Grade 8 from 3:00 - 5:30 PM daily. The daily rate is $10/day for pickup by 4:15 PM, and $20/day for pickup by 5:30 PM.

Food Service

Sodexo, the food service provider, offers tasty and globally inspired food made with fresh ingredients.

Event and Activity Fees

Throughout the year, there are various events and activities that may incur additional costs. For example, the SnoBall dance for high school students has a ticket price, and students may also choose to purchase attire and go out to dinner with friends beforehand. Field trips, such as the Catholic Schools Week field trip, may also require a fee.

Fundraising

The BA Annual Fund drive is at $209,614+ with a goal of $265,000 for this academic year! Gifts accepted through June 30, 2023. BABS - A Red & Black Gala Event on April 15 is in need of silent and live auction items.
