The Questrom School of Business (BU Questrom or Questrom) is the business school of Boston University. It is the third-oldest business school in New England, after Dartmouth Tuck School of Business and Harvard Business School. Formerly known as the College of Business Administration (1913 - 1973) and the School of Management (1974 - 2014), the school was renamed the Questrom School of Business in March 2015. The business school is housed in the Rafik B. Hariri Building, located at 595 Commonwealth Avenue. The building opened in October 1996 and contains over 40 classrooms, a 375-seat lecture hall, five computer labs, and the Frederick S. Pardee Management Library. The building offers wireless Internet access throughout as well as 4,000 wired data ports. A Breadwinners Deli and a wired Starbucks are located on the second floor of the building. The Hariri Building also contains 19 team rooms available only for undergraduate and graduate Questrom students to hold team meetings. The building is named after Rafik B. Hariri, the late former Prime Minister of Lebanon, who was a Boston University trustee.

Questrom offers a single degree - a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - so all Questrom students major in Business Administration and Management. Students start their business education freshman year, taking a mix of courses such as Business Ethics, Finance, Economics, and Calculus. All Questrom freshmen are required to take the year-long foundational program of Business Ethics and Finance with the same cohort of classmates.

Honors Program

In order to be admitted into the Honors Program sophomore year, students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA in at least 36 credits of completed academic coursework.

Questrom places a strong emphasis on analytics education for all students, ensuring they develop essential data-driven skills. Those interested in a deeper focus on analytics can pursue the new Business Analytics concentration, while any student-regardless of concentration-can opt for the quantitatively focused track.

Unlike other B-schools where students don’t take business courses until their junior year, Questrom allows its students to begin taking business courses their very first day. The signature experience at Questrom is the Cross-Functional Core Project, also known as “Core.” Students take part in Core during their junior year, where they work in student teams across disciplines of finance, marketing, operations management, and business analytics to develop a product or service and create a full-fledged business plan.

Innovation Ecosystems Field Seminar: Focuses on tech innovation in Israel, with company visits in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and cultural visits to Masada and the Dead Sea.
India Field Seminar: Explores the global forces of the health sector as they intersect with the dynamics of an emerging economy.
