Brianne Howey: From Flight Attendant Dreams to Netflix Stardom and Education Journey
Brianne Howey's journey to becoming a recognized actress is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and willingness to embrace unexpected opportunities. While her initial aspirations lay far from the world of acting, life had other plans, leading her to share her talents with a global audience through roles in series like Netflix's "Ginny & Georgia."
Early Life and Shifting Aspirations
Interestingly, becoming an actress wasn't even on Brianne Howey's radar when she was younger. Instead, she envisioned a career as a flight attendant. This original goal highlights a different side of Howey, one that prioritized travel and service. However, her experiences in high school ignited a passion for acting, setting her on a new course.
The Spark of Acting and Formal Training
After falling in love with acting in high school, Brianne decided to dedicate herself to honing her skills and pursuing acting as a career. To further her development as an actress, she attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where she studied theater. This formal training provided her with a solid foundation in acting techniques and performance theory, preparing her for the challenges of the industry.
Career Breakthrough and Recognition
Brianne Howey's career is a great example of what hard work and dedication can do. After being in the industry for more than a decade, she has recently gotten to a place in her career where major opportunities are really rolling in. As one of the stars of the new Netflix series Ginny & Georgia, Brianne has been given the opportunity to share her talents with millions of viewers across the world. While the series isn’t her first time with a main role, it could end up serving as a big break for her. If you’ve seen Brianne’s work before, then you probably completely understand why she deserves the shine she’s getting. If you’re not familiar with her just yet, you’re in for a real treat.
Howey has gained recognition with main roles in the Fox series The Exorcist (2016) and The Passage (2019) and a recurring role in the first season of The CW's superhero drama Batwoman (2019-2020) as Reagan Pye. In 2024, she starred as Molly Turner in the Farrelly brothers holiday comedy Dear Santa.

"Ginny & Georgia": A Defining Role
Howey is best known for her role as Georgia Miller in the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia. The series is one of the most watched Netflix series and topped the charts in over 88 countries. The show, created by Sarah Lampert and showrunner Debra J. Fisher, follows the story of 15-year-old Ginny Miller and her 30-year-old mother, Georgia, as they settle down in Wellsbury, Massachusetts, along with Ginny’s nine-year-old brother, Austin, after Georgia’s husband dies. Having lived somewhat on the run, Georgia wants to put down roots. As the family attempts to find its place in their new community, Ginny is welcomed by an existing trio of best friends, making them a fierce foursome. While Ginny attracts the attention of two classmates, Marcus and Hunter, her mother also catches the eye of three men.
According to Fisher, finding the perfect Georgia to Gentry’s Ginny took a bit longer. “So Brianne was the last, literally, the last to be cast. We had to find the perfect Georgia that balanced beauty, that’s going to kill you with a smile but will stab you in the chest without seeing it coming,” Fisher told EW. We watched the tape really late Friday night or on the weekend, and we were like, ‘We must meet this woman.’ Monday morning, we brought her in, read her with Toni and we were like, ‘We just found Ginny and Georgia.’
Beyond Acting: Personal Life and Interests
Brianne might be all about lights, camera, and action when she’s at work, but in her free time it’s the simple things she enjoys the most. She loves being out in nature and she always appreciates the beauty of her surrounding. She spends a lot of time reading and poetry seems to be one of her favorites. She comes from a very close knit family and she has four younger siblings.
As Brianne’s start continues to rise, you can bet that the number of people in her DMs continues to rise as well. After all, who wouldn’t want to shoot their shot with a talented and beautiful actress? Sadly for those hopefuls, Brianna is in a happy relationship with a man named Matt Ziering.
Brianne certainly isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and she has used her platform as a way to raise awareness to the things that are important to her. She is a strong supporter of the fight to end racism and she has also shown her support for LGBTQ and women’s rights.

Continuous Growth and Future Endeavors
Once people reach their goals, it can become very easy for complacency to set it. Brianne has never allowed that to happen to her, though. She is always looking for a challenge and she loves the opportunity to learn new things.
Filming for “Ginny & Georgia” Season 4 has already begun! On Oct. 7, 2025, Tudum revealed filming had started in Toronto. “Ginny & Georgia” Season 4 is currently casting.
