Brook Robert Lopez, born on April 1, 1988, is an American professional basketball player known for his versatility and impact on the court. Before his successful NBA career, Lopez honed his skills during his college years at Stanford University. Born in Panorama City, California, Lopez's family later moved to Oak Harbor, Washington, and then to Fresno, California. Stanford University Career (2006-2008)

Lopez's sophomore season (2007-08) was even more impressive. He earned Third Team All-America honors from The Associated Press and the NABC. He was also named First Team All-Pac-10 and earned league All-Defensive Team honors. As a sophomore, he averaged a team-best 19.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in 27 games, making 25 starts. He shot 46.8 percent from the field (184-393) and 78.9 percent from the free-throw line (153-194). He scored in double figures 25 times and notched nine double-doubles. Lopez led the team in scoring 20 times and rebounding 14 times. He was named Rivals.com National Player of the Week twice and Pac-10 Player of the Week once. Lopez missed the first nine games of the year as he was academically ineligible.

Averaged 16.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.91 blocks per game in 53 career games (45 starts) for Stanford. Finished collegiate career as Stanford’s fifth all-time leader in blocked shots (101). Posted 11 career double-doubles, including one triple-double, which is the only triple-double in Stanford men’s basketball history. NBA Draft and Early Career

After two successful seasons at Stanford, Lopez declared for the NBA draft. He was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the 10th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. His twin brother, Robin, was drafted 15th overall by the Phoenix Suns.

Milwaukee Bucks (2018-Present)

In July 2018, Lopez signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. After not making a single 3-point shot in his first six NBA seasons, Lopez became a reliable threat from deep. He gained the nickname "Splash Mountain". Lopez also improved his free-throw shooting after joining the Bucks, quickly becoming one of the Bucks' most reliable free-throw shooters. In the 2022-23 season, Lopez put together one of the best seasons of his career in his fifth season with the Bucks and 15th season in the NBA. He played and started 78 games and averaged 15.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, a career-high 2.5 blocks (3rd in NBA) and 1.3 assists in 30.4 minutes per game. He shot 53.1% from the field, a career-high 34.7% from three and 78.4% from the free-throw line. Lopez was named First Team All-Defense and was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year. He led the league in total blocks with 193 and contested a league-high 1,362 shots, 445 more shots than the next-closest player. Per game contested 17.5 shots, 5.4 more than the next-closest player.
