Brown University Health Portal: Your Gateway to Integrated Healthcare

The Brown University Health system is committed to providing seamless and coordinated care to its patients. A key component of this commitment is the implementation of advanced electronic health record systems, designed to unite providers and enhance patient access to vital health information. The MyChart patient portal serves as a secure and user-friendly interface, empowering patients to actively participate in their healthcare journey.

Understanding MyChart: Your Secure Electronic Health Record

MyChart provides you with a window into your electronic health record. It is part of LifeChart, Brown University Health’s electronic health record system, which allows us to create and maintain a single record for each of our patients. Whether you have visited one of our outpatient clinics, labs, ambulatory centers or hospitals, a single integrated record charts the care you received and your health condition. Information from all of your Brown University Health health care providers is available in that record. After you enroll, go to brownhealth.org/MyChart and click on “Sign in” whenever you wish to access your health information. If you have any questions, your health care provider will be happy to help.

MyChart is more than just a repository of medical data; it's a dynamic tool designed to improve communication, engagement, and overall health outcomes.

LifeChart: Uniting Providers for Coordinated Care

MyChart is part of LifeChart, Brown University Health’s electronic health record system. LifeChart allows us to create and maintain a single electronic medical record for each of our patients. Together, we’re uniting our providers under one coordinated system with a single electronic health record - making care more seamless for patients and providers. Brown University Health’s hospitals (Hasbro, Miriam, Newport and Rhode Island Hospital) will be out of network for the Medicare Advantage plans, including Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP) and Group Retiree plans, effective July 1, 2025. This impacts only Medicare Advantage patients and Brown University Health’s hospitals at this time.

Accessing and Utilizing MyChart

Gaining access to MyChart is a straightforward process. Once enrolled, patients can visit brownhealth.org/MyChart and click the "Sign in" button to access their health information. The portal's intuitive design ensures ease of navigation, even for those with limited technical experience.
