Navigating the Butte College Portal: A Comprehensive Guide

Butte College offers a range of resources and opportunities for students. Properly navigating the Butte College portal is essential for enrollment, accessing financial aid, registering for classes, and staying informed about important deadlines and policies. This guide provides a detailed overview of the key aspects of the Butte College portal, designed to assist both new and continuing students.

Application Process

The first step to becoming a Butte College student is completing an application through the CCCApply portal. Depending on the type of student you are, you may not have to complete every step.

  • Starting an Application: Once logged in, click "Start a New Application" and complete all required fields.

Students who have not attended in a year or more will need to submit a new CCC Application prior to registering for classes.

Orientation

Orientation is a great way to become familiar with the campus, academics, registration, student services and student life.

  • New Students: New Students attending college for the first time are required to attend In-Person Orientation where you will meet with a Counselor and register for classes.
  • Transfer Students: Transfer Students who have completed 24 units or more units with 2.0+ GPA from a college other than Butte are required to complete the Online Orientation and should schedule an appointment with a Counselor. You need to complete all of the steps to enroll; however, you are not required to meet with a Counselor in order to register for classes your first semester. New Transfer-In Students will sign-up for an Individual Counseling Appointment prior to second semester registration.

Financial Aid

Butte College offers various financial aid options to help students fund their education.

First-time, full-time students who are California residents or AB540 may be eligible to receive the Butte College Promise Scholarship (BCPS) which covers tuition and fees for up to the first two years. You must have a FA application on file to qualify.

Registration and Fees

Registering for classes and paying fees are critical steps in the enrollment process.

Students have 7 days to pay fees from the time of registration or they will be dropped from one or more classes. The 7 Days to Pay policy is suspended for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

Continuing Students receive priority registration times in April and November.

To take classes you must have a Concurrent Enrollment Permission form on file by the deadline.
