The CBU Student Portal, accessible through the CBU homepage (cbu.ca), serves as a central hub for students to manage various academic and financial aspects of their university life. Accessing the Student Portal
- Navigate to the CBU Homepage: Begin by visiting the official CBU website at cbu.ca.
- Locate the Login Portal: A pop-up should appear with two columns, guiding you to the login portal.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): You will be asked to confirm MFA. Follow the prompts on screen or go here for more assistance.
- Login: After successful authentication, you will access the main dashboard.
Upon logging in, a panel of 7 windows should appear, with your student account username displayed in the top right corner. This dashboard provides access to key functionalities.

The CBU Student Portal offers a range of tools and information to support students throughout their academic journey. These include:
1. Student Finance
The Student Finance section allows students to view their outstanding balance and tuition owed to the school. This provides a clear picture of their financial obligations to the university. It is important to remember that all student account charges are due and payable by the Payment Due Date.
International Tuition Payments: CBU partners with Convera (formally Western Union Business Solutions) to offer a simple, secure, and smart way to pay your international tuition and fee payment online. - Confirm your student information and complete payer information.
- Complete the payment to CBU.
- View and confirm your payment status on CBU’s Payment Center.
Note: Due to banking regulations, not all currencies are available.
Payment Options: CBU offers various payment options, including online payments. Tuition and fee payment can be made online. Auto Pay is required for payment plans, with payments adjusting up or down based off changes to your account balance. Past due balances may not be included in the current semester payment plan.
In limited circumstances, transaction fees may apply. If selected by payors. Visa and Mastercard are available in specific jurisdictions only.
Refunds: Tuition refunds are calculated from the date of official withdrawal.
2. Tax Information
The Tax Information section provides students with the necessary information to complete their taxes each year. You must provide your consent to receive these digitally.

The Graduation Overview section tracks a student's progression through their program. It indicates whether a student has fulfilled all requirements and is eligible to apply for graduation. When you complete all your requirements, you may apply for graduation.
4. Student Planning
Student Planning is a crucial tool for course management. It allows students to register, waitlist, and drop courses that they have selected in the course catalogue. Each program has specific requirements that must be fulfilled.
Course Registration: The registers office portal allows you to quicky request a proof of enrollment letter. When searching for courses, the course code column contains the course code and section letter for the course. The results page also displays location, and professor. The seats open column displays a ratio of seats open to total seats in a classroom, which can be confusing to some. Lastly, the Begin and End Date Columns indicate the first and the last day of that course.
After each add, stop and notice the comment in the box above the schedule.
Course Withdrawal: Within withdrawal period- A student may withdraw from a course.

No mark will appear on the transcript and there is no charge incurred.
However, there may be no credit of tuition.
5. Financial Aid

Study Abroad: Financial aid may be applied to study abroad, depending on the funding source and their requirements. Students must meet the study abroad deadline or CBU’s Payment Due Date (whichever date comes first).
Financial Aid and Withdrawal: Withdrawal from a course or from the University can impact federal financial aid.
Book Vouchers: Campus Bookstore purchases from loan monies, may be eligible for a book voucher.
6. Regulations and Policies
The portal also provides access to important university regulations and policies. This ensures that students are aware of their rights and responsibilities. It is crucial to adhere to conduct requirements and/or to comply with Federal, State and University regulations and policies.
7. Emergency Contact Information
CBU updated the process for managing emergency contact information. The portal allows students to add, update, and manage their emergency contacts.
Reordering Contacts:
While focused on a reorder icon, press the Enter key or spacebar to "select" the icon. While a reorder icon is selected, pressing the up and down arrows will change the order of the selected item within the list.
Additional Information
Academic Advising: Yes! An Academic Advisor can help you decide what courses to take to align with your academic and career goals. This service is free of charge and highly recommended to students.
Changing Programs: Yes! Both Current and new students can change their program.
University's Delivery of Instruction: The University provides educational services to its students through its traditional in-person and online formats. However, the University is not responsible for interruption of instruction caused by events such as war, disease, social unrest, and accidents or place restrictions upon the University's delivery of instruction under such circumstances. There will be no refund of tuition.
Appeals: of a written appeal. by the Office of the Registrar and financial aid will be awarded accordingly.
