Students from all Albuquerque high schools can choose unique courses from a variety of career areas, including medicine, computers, engineering, health, languages, business, and CTE courses including vocational classes. CEC’s distinctive programs attract a wide variety of students from all geographic areas and socioeconomic groups in Albuquerque.
CEC distinguishes itself by offering in-depth learning experiences that go beyond the traditional high school curriculum. This exposure to advanced coursework allows students to discover their passions, develop specialized skills, and gain a competitive edge as they prepare for college and careers.
The Early College Academy (ECA): A Personalized Pathway to College Readiness
Complementing the CEC is the Early College Academy (ECA), a college-prep magnet high school and sister school to the Career Enrichment Center (CEC) that focuses on college preparation. Recognizing the importance of personalized guidance in navigating the complexities of college preparation, ECA offers a small-school environment where students receive individualized attention. Classes are offered to 200 students in a small school environment. ECA classes are scheduled in the morning so that students may take CEC, UNM, or CNM classes in the afternoon. ECA’s small-school environment offers students an intimate and personalized college-readiness learning experience.
This intimate setting allows educators to foster close relationships with students, providing tailored academic support, college counseling, and mentorship. Through this personalized approach, ECA aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed in college.

Expanding the reach of Early College programs, Colorado Early Colleges (CEC) provides a network of learning environments designed to accelerate students' academic journeys. At Colorado Early Colleges, students have the opportunity to earn a degree or certification either on campus or through one of our accredited college partners.
