CeraVe Future Nurses Scholarship
Overview
The 2025 CeraVe Future Nurses Scholarship application is officially open, marking the fourth year CeraVe has supported nursing students. This scholarship awards $5,000 to selected nursing students to help with their education.
Application Requirements
To apply for the CeraVe Future Nurses Scholarship, applicants need to:
- Answer the 250-word essay question: “What does nursing mean to you?”
- (Recommended) Submit a video explaining your passion for nursing.
- Highlight accomplishments and qualifications in the application.
Scholarship winners will be publicly announced on May 6, coinciding with National Nurses Day.
CeraVe "Heroes Behind the Masks" Promotion (2021)
Overview
The CeraVe “Heroes Behind the Masks Chapter 2” Promotion was active from November 11, 2021, to December 17, 2021. It was open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who were 18 years of age or older. Eligible participants needed to be full- or part-time employees (working at least two days per week) in the nursing profession at a public hospital, private practice, nursing care facility, educational institution, or similar institution. Individuals who had received a Grand Prize from the Sponsor in the previous “Heroes Behind the Masks” Promotion were not eligible.

Heroes Search Entry Requirements
To enter the Heroes Search, entrants were required to:
- Visit www.HeroesBehindTheMasks.com and complete the entry form.
- Optionally include a photo of themselves, with or without a face mask (photo had to be submitted in .jpg, .gif or .png format and could not exceed 10 MB).
- Provide an original essay (maximum three thousand (3,000) characters) with an optional video (video must not exceed 3 minutes in duration, 1GB in size and must be submitted in .mp4 or .mov format) describing the most defining moment(s) in their career which have made an impact on their life and why their profession is important to them.
All entries had to be in English and in the form of an essay, not poems or songs. Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means were void.
Offer Details
The first two hundred fifty (250) eligible participants who submitted an entry into the Heroes Search received one (1) CeraVe Skincare Kit (Kit contents determined by Sponsor) (Estimated Retail Value “ERV” $50.00). There was a limit of one (1) Reward per person for the duration of the Offer Period. Rewards were delivered to the address provided in the submitted entry form.
Entry Warranties
By entering the Promotion, entrants represented and warranted that:
- They were the sole owner of their Entry and had all rights in their Entry.
- They had the right to submit the Entry and to provide the Sponsor with a license to use the Entry.
- Their Entry consisted of only their original work and no part of their Entry had previously been published anywhere else.
- They had not granted any person, corporation, or other entity any rights to use their Entry.
- Their Entry met the criteria outlined in the rules.
- Their Entry did not defame or violate the rights of publicity or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or property rights or other third-party rights.
- Their Entry was not offensive or inappropriate, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, nor did it violate any law.
- If their Entry contained third-party elements not owned by them, they had obtained written consent from those owners to submit their Entry and could produce such written consent if requested.
Winner Selection
After the Promotion Period, all eligible Entries received were judged by a panel of judges based on the following equally weighted criteria:

- How the entrant embodied the “Heroes Behind the Masks” theme through a compelling story or experience of their most defining moment(s) in their career.
- How the entrant exemplified the caring and compassionate nature of nursing.
- How the entrant demonstrated why their profession is important to them.
The four (4) Entries with the highest overall scores were deemed the potential Grand Prize winners, subject to verification and compliance with the Official Rules. The next fifteen (15) top-scoring Entries were deemed “Honorable Mention” Entries.
Prizes
Grand Prize Packages (4)
Each Grand Prize package consisted of:
- One (1) $2,500.00 (awarded as a $2,500.00 check)
- One (1) CeraVe Skincare Kit (Kit contents determined by Sponsor) (ERV $50.00)
- The opportunity to participate in the CeraVe “Heroes Behind the Masks Chapter 2” Video Series
The total ERV of each Grand Prize package was $2,550.00.
Honorable Mention Prizes (15)
Each Honorable Mention Prize consisted of:
- One (1) CeraVe Skincare Kit (Kit contents determined by Sponsor) (ERV $50.00)
- The opportunity for their Entries to be featured at www.HeroesBehindTheMasks.com leading up to the Grand Prize winners’ announcement.
Video Series Requirements
Potential winners had to be available for filming on a date and location determined by the Sponsor between January 4, 2022, and February 28, 2022 (dates subject to change). The video production may have taken approximately six (6) hours. Appearance in the Video Series may have been subject to additional terms, conditions, and agreements specified by Sponsor.

General Conditions
Winners were responsible for all taxes (including federal, state, and local taxes) and any other costs and expenses associated with acceptance and use of the prize not described as being awarded. Prizes were not transferable, redeemable for cash, or substitutable except by Sponsor, which reserved the right to substitute a prize with one of comparable or greater value.
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
The Released Parties (as defined in the Official Rules) were not responsible for lost, delayed, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, cable, satellite, Internet Service Provider (ISP), or other connections, miscommunications, failed phone, computer or telephone transmissions or technical failure, jumbled, scrambled or misdirected transmissions, or other errors or malfunctions of any kind. They were also not responsible for Entries that were lost, late, stolen, inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, garbled, or delayed by computer transmissions.
Promotion Integrity
Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Promotion or who were in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by the judges, were disqualified and all associated Entries were void. The use of script, macro, or automated entry software or programs or other means or practices which subverted the entry process was prohibited and all such Entries were void.
Sponsor’s Rights
If the Promotion was compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, or other causes which corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of any element of the Promotion, the Sponsor reserved the right in its sole discretion to modify, suspend, or terminate the Promotion or any portion thereof.
Arbitration and Legal Compliance
As a condition of participating in this Promotion, entrants agreed that under no circumstances would they be permitted to obtain awards for, and they hereby waived all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, if any. All causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion were to be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action and exclusively by final and binding arbitration in accordance with the Federal Arbitration Act.
