Degree Requirements for Master's Programs:

  • Students must earn a B- or higher in each course to pass.
  • An overall grade point average of 3.0 is required to graduate.
  • All students are required to take the Capstone Seminar as their last course and must receive a final grade of B or higher to graduate. Students may repeat the course once if they do not achieve a B or higher.
  • Undergraduate students who took Graduate courses as part of the Fast Track program may be eligible to transfer those graduate courses and grades to their graduate record.

Bachelor's Degree Programs

Charter Oak State College offers a range of majors under the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degree designations, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

The distinction between a degree in "Arts" and a degree in "Science" is the number of Liberal Arts and Sciences credits required. Liberal Arts and Sciences include subjects within the areas of humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. Subjects not included in the category of Liberal Arts and Sciences are those of a technical, professional, or occupationally-oriented nature.
