The Child Care Scholarship (CCS) Program in Missouri provides financial assistance to eligible low-income families who need help paying for childcare services. CCS Central 2 processes Child Care Scholarship applications and Provider Payments. The Child Care Scholarship Program has established a timely appeal and resolution process for any payment inaccuracies or disputes.

Important Notice: Starting May 1, 2025, the Child Care Scholarship (CCS) Program will temporarily stop issuing scholarships to new families.

Application Process

Applying for childcare assistance in Missouri involves several steps.

Complete the form and attach copies of the required documents. Then, drop off the application at your nearest FSD office.

Step 3: Temporary Scholarship: If you are eligible, a temporary, 60-day Scholarship will be issued to assist with the cost of child care while we process your full application. We will ask for additional information and documentation to see if you are eligible for a 52-week Scholarship.

Step 4: Select a Provider: Once your application is approved, you will need to select a licensed child care provider that participates in the Missouri Child Care Assistance program. You can choose any licensed childcare provider or, in some cases, a legally exempt provider.

Ongoing Eligibility Verification

MIT Child Care Center Scholarship Program

*If a spouse or domestic partner is seeking employment due to a recent job loss, a temporary MIT Child Care Center scholarship award may be approved for up to a maximum of three (3) months. Note that all scholarship recipients must reapply every year. Scholarship applications can be accessed through Atlas. To submit applications, click on “About Me” in the top menu bar and then look in the “My Benefits” section on the left for the link to the “MIT Childcare Center Scholarship Program”. At the end of each month during the period of your award, the Institute will automatically add monthly scholarship amounts to your MIT pay or stipend and will treat your scholarship award as taxable income, withholding funds as needed for payment of taxes. 1. If you are eligible for a scholarship, the amount of your award will vary according to your financial need, the number of enrolled childcare days, your TCC tuition, and the availability of funds when you submit your application.
