Applying for Clemson Home Positions
Clemson Home applications typically open around September 1st each year. Positions may be available for immediate start, the upcoming Spring or Summer semesters, or the following Academic Year. Interested students can apply through the Clemson Home Employment Portal.
Available Positions
- Summer Program Position: This role involves providing customer service to camps and conferences staying on campus during the summer, enhancing communication and customer service skills.
- Area Desk Assistant: Area Desk Assistants oversee key management and serve as a resource for peers in on-campus residential spaces. These desks operate 24/7, requiring staff with excellent customer service skills, a willingness to learn about housing information, and a dedication to representing Clemson Home positively.
- Marketing Assistants: These assistants work in the main office on various marketing and communications projects.

Campus Reservations and Events
Campus Reservations and Events offers employment opportunities to all Clemson University students. Eligibility
International students must:

- Maintain full-time enrollment, as on-campus employment is secondary to the pursuit of a degree at Clemson University.
Work Authorization
To work off-campus, international students must obtain work authorization (OPT, CPT, EAD, Academic Training) through Clemson University and/or DHS/USCIS.

On-Campus Employment Rules
An international student in F-1 or J-1 status may work on-campus up to 20 hours per week throughout the year. During recognized breaks, students may be eligible to work over the 20-hour limit; confirmation of these breaks should be obtained from the International Employment Office in Human Resources. Working over 20 hours during a non-recognized school break is considered a violation of status and will lead to accruing unlawful presence. All on-campus employment for international students must be processed by the Office of Human Resources.
