Navigating the COS Catalog
The COS Catalog serves as a comprehensive guide to the college's offerings, providing essential information about degrees, certificates, courses, enrollment guidelines, financial aid, student support services, and other general information. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the catalog to understand their "catalog rights." Students in continuous attendance may choose any catalog in effect during their attendance. Continuous attendance is defined as earning at least one-half unit of credit during consecutive academic years. An academic year starts in the fall semester and concludes at the end of the summer session. Once established at COS, continuous attendance may be maintained by earning credits at any regionally accredited institution.

Coursework includes: Introduction to Administration of Justice, Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Law, Criminal Court Procedures, Corrections, Criminology, and Community and the Justice System.

Additionally, upon completing the required classes, you have the opportunity to earn a noncredit vocational certificate of completion or competency.
Noncredit courses are available to everyone. Pre-registration is available online or through our Admissions and Records office. Depending on the course, you may be required to purchase specific books or materials. Classes are held at both our Yreka and Weed campuses, with occasional sessions taking place in community spaces.
