Exploring Programs at the Community College of Allegheny County
Since its founding in 1966, the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) has grown into a nationally recognized two-year college dedicated to serving the community. CCAC has become the college of choice for nearly one out of every two adults in Allegheny County. Transfer Opportunities
CCAC welcomes transfer students from local and national two- and four-year institutions. These students can begin or complete a degree, or pursue health or career programs. CCAC offers 29 transfer programs. In addition, students transfer credits from hundreds of other courses to local and national colleges and universities.
Students are urged to submit transcripts from their previous schools well in advance of the start of their first term so CCAC can complete an evaluation for the student’s first advising/registration interview.
Admissions and Enrollment
CCAC does not charge an application fee. CCAC does not require SAT scores but will review those scores for placement purposes. All new degree-seeking students are required to see an advisor for their first registration. All continuing students are encouraged to use this service as well. A minimum of 15 credits need to be taken at CCAC for any degree. A certificate or diploma requires a minimum of one-half of the credits required for graduation be taken at CCAC.

CCAC offers a wide array of academic programs designed to cater to diverse interests and career aspirations. These programs lead to Associate of Science (A.S.) and Associate of Arts (A.A.) degrees, as well as certificates in specialized fields. The diamond symbol (♦) indicates PA TRAC programs. PA TRAC creates a seamless statewide transfer and articulation system by creating foundation courses that can be easily transferred to any participating institution.
