Expanding Dual-Credit Opportunities
A landmark Memorandum of Agreement between the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), CT State, and the CT Office of Workforce Strategy expands dual-credit opportunities for Connecticut students at CTECS schools. This partnership strengthens pathways that give students the chance to earn college credit earlier, save time and money, and step confidently into high-demand careers. This agreement marks a major shift in how we connect technical high school education to higher education in Connecticut. The impact? “Through this partnership with CT State, we are strengthening the bridge between technical education, higher education, and Connecticut’s workforce,” said Dr. Alice Pritchard, Executive Director of CTECS.
Addressing Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities
The Connecticut State Department of Education is actively seeking professionals to join the Office of Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities. These positions require specific advanced education and experience in order to meet the needs of the position.

Supporting Student Nutrition

As anticipated, December’s chronic absence rate increased, aligning with seasonal trends that make winter months more challenging for attendance. As we begin the year, continued school, family, and community partnerships are essential.
