Design Your Future: Continuing Education at Moore College of Art & Design
Moore College of Art & Design offers a robust array of continuing education programs designed for career changers, creative professionals seeking to enhance their skills, and anyone with a passion for art and design. These all-gender Adult Programs provide a supportive and enriching environment for students of all ages and backgrounds to pursue their artistic dreams. Whether you're looking to earn a certificate, explore new techniques, or simply reignite your creativity, Moore's Adult Continuing Education (ACE) program has something to offer.
Flexible Learning Options
Moore understands that adult learners have busy schedules, which is why they offer convenient evening programs and a variety of credit and noncredit course options. These courses are structured in four quarterly sessions throughout the year, allowing students to progress at their own pace and fit their education into their existing commitments. Distinguished faculty members, who are experts in their respective fields, lead the courses.
Certificate Programs
For students seeking a more structured learning path, Moore offers several credit-bearing certificate tracks. To earn a certificate, students must complete eight for-credit courses within their chosen track. Current certificate options include Interior Design Studies and Communication Arts: Illustration (Upcoming). These programs provide in-depth training and a valuable credential for those looking to advance their careers or transition into new creative fields.
A Supportive Learning Environment
One of the hallmarks of Moore's ACE program is its supportive and encouraging atmosphere. As one student shared, "This is my first time returning to school in a long time. [My instructor] encouraged me when I felt like I was too old for the class and not knowledgeable enough to pursue my dream." This sentiment reflects the dedication of Moore's faculty to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel empowered to explore their artistic potential, regardless of their age or experience level.
The program also emphasizes practical application and skill-building. Students appreciate how "assignments built on themselves, so that we revisited skills learned in previous classes," reinforcing their knowledge and building confidence in their abilities. This approach ensures that students not only learn the theory behind art and design but also develop the hands-on skills needed to succeed in their chosen fields. As another student noted, "I feel very comfortable using the programs we learned."

Summer Artist Educator Residency
In addition to its regular course offerings, Moore also hosts a Summer Artist Educator Residency. This week-long, studio-based experience is designed for art educators and teaching artists nationwide, providing them with an opportunity to hone their skills, explore new techniques, and connect with fellow educators.
Important Information for Prospective Students
To register for ACE courses, students must complete and submit a registration form in advance of the start date. This form includes essential information such as contact details, emergency contacts, and any relevant medical information. Providing a "Preferred Name" ensures that it will be used in all future communications from the college.
Moore College is required to file a Form 1098-T for each student enrolled in all programs and for whom a reportable transaction is made, therefore, the form asks for your social security number.
Refund Policy
Moore has a clear refund policy for students who withdraw from courses. A 100% refund (less a $55 fee) is provided before the first class meeting, an 80% refund (less a $55 fee) after the first class, and a 50% refund (less a $55 fee) after the second class. No refunds are issued after the third class meeting. Students dismissed from the program due to code of conduct violations are not eligible for refunds. In the event of a course cancellation, students receive a full tuition refund with no withdrawal fee applied. All refunds are disbursed via Direct Deposit, requiring the completion of an ACH form. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.
