High School College Connection (HSCC): A Head Start on Higher Education
For high school students in the West Contra Costa and John Swett Unified School Districts, the High School College Connection (HSCC) program offers a unique opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. This free concurrent enrollment summer program allows eligible students to explore college courses, gain experience in a college setting, and receive additional support through coaching, mentorship, and embedded tutoring.

- Complete an Online Application: If you didn’t attend CCC last semester, the first step is to complete an online application through CCCApply. If you’re a new user, create an OpenCCC account, select that you are a K-12 student enrolling in college courses, and submit your application. Answer the survey questions to receive your placement. Please allow 24 hours for your results to be processed.

Notices Regarding Registration Dates
- Continuing students can view their Spring registration date approximately mid-to-late-October by clicking on the Registration Dates in InSite.
- New and returning students can view their Spring registration dates within 24 hours of applying given the application is not flagged as potential SPAM.
- Student Success Program includes placement, orientation, and completion of an educational plan. Enroll in COUNS-108 or ESL-108.
- Students may register online until 11:59pm the day prior to the first class meeting.
- Dates to add, receive a refund or drop are calculated individually on the length of each course for short-term classes. To view course-specific deadlines, log into InSite and select “My Schedule”.

Registration fees are due at the time of registration. If you decide not to take a course, you will need to drop the course by the last day to be eligible for a refund or a credit on your account to remove outstanding fees. If you do not drop the class by the deadline, you will be responsible for all outstanding fees even if you don’t complete the course.

- Step 2: Block time for work or other commitments. Sort by your preferred time of day. Pin and save your preferred sections. Scroll through your results using arrows or swiping (mobile). Save your favorite schedules. Print or share your schedule with friends, family, or your counselor.
- Step 3: Select “Continue” at the bottom of the page. Review selected courses and actions. Select “Submit Changes” to register for all classes.

If your name is Jane Doe and ID # is 1234567, your username will be jdoe567. The first time default password should be your date of birth; the format should be MMDDYY (last 2 digits). For example, if your DOB is November 10, 2021, your password should be 111021.

- How do I know I am on the correct college page? In the upper right hand corner of the portal page should be your college’s logo. Clicking on any of the links in that web part will take you to the colleges sites. Additionally at the bottom of every web page is a link to all the colleges in the district.
- Why don't I see my college specific information? New portal users may not immediately see their college-specific information. That will appear within 24 hours of logging into the portal. If you see the incorrect college logo displayed in the portal, you will need to contact your admissions and records department (see bottom of page) to have your primary location changed.
- What browser should I use? The portal is best viewed using Firefox 3 or higher, Safari 3 or higher, Internet Explorer 7.x or higher, with Java enabled, and a resolution of 800×600 or greater. Some documents have been created as PDF, which require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
