Discover the World with Cornell Alumni Travel Programs
Cornell Alumni Travel programs provide unique opportunities for alumni, their families, and friends to embark on extraordinary journeys around the globe. These programs offer a blend of educational enrichment and immersive cultural experiences, fostering connections with fellow Cornellians while exploring fascinating destinations.
Facilitating Educational Travel Experiences
Cornell University is pleased to facilitate travel opportunities for its alumni and friends with tour operators that specialize in high-quality educational travel. Cornell does not conduct, manage, or operate these travel experiences, or act as an agent for travelers interested in tours. Instead, Cornell serves as a facilitator, connecting travelers with reputable tour operators who curate enriching and memorable trips.
Responsibility and Safety
Tour operators and travelers are responsible for making their own safety decisions concerning this travel. Cornell’s role and liability are strictly limited as a facilitator between travelers and the tour operators with whom travelers make arrangements for completing travel. It is crucial for travelers to understand that specific tour operator and national health and safety protocols will apply to each trip. Before making a reservation, travelers should carefully review all protocols and trip terms and conditions, including those related to cancellations, refunds, health and safety, and insurance.
The AHI Experience: A Partner in Alumni Travel
Many Cornell Alumni Travel programs are organized in partnership with AHI (AHI International Corporation), an international company with a rich history of providing personalized group travel experiences. AHI's goal is to connect travelers with the people, places, and cultures they'll never forget.
AHI's History: From Student Travel to Global Adventures
AHI's journey began in 1962 when Richard and Arlene Small opened Studentaire Travel, a company focused on travel for college students. In 1964, they launched Alumni Holidays, the first company to focus on serving the university alumni association market and connect graduates back to their alma maters. By 1965, all travel was operated under the name Alumni Holidays.

AHI incorporated under the name AHI International Corporation in 1984. In 1985, AHI expanded into Canada. The company continued to innovate, launching the first overnight passenger ship on France’s Rhone and Saone rivers in 1986, followed by the first overnight passenger ship on France’s Seine River in 1989.
In 1993, AHI introduced the Alumni Campus Abroad (ACA) concept, featuring inclusive air, excursions, meals, seminars, and more. Richard and Arlene Small retired in 2000.
In 2003, AHI launched first-ever cruises for Americans between St. Petersburg and Moscow and established a long-standing relationship with the Eastern and Orient Express, operating luxury journeys in Old World style between Bangkok, Thailand, and Singapore.
The company launched Art of Living in 2011, offering extended stay three and four-week programs featuring aparthotel accommodations and learning tracks, including language, art, cuisine, and other cultural learning opportunities. The first program operated in Cuenca, Ecuador.
