  • Course Details: Click on a course title or the "view course details" link to access additional information, including descriptions, prerequisites, and distribution codes. This information is pulled directly from the official Course Catalog.
  • Class Number: This 4 or 5-digit number is crucial for enrolling in classes through Student Center. It is located to the left of the Favorites star, in blue. You will need the Class Number for each lecture, discussion, lab, etc. that you wish to add to your schedule.
  • Favorites: Save Class Numbers for classes you are interested in by clicking on the star to the right of the Class Number. View your Favorites by clicking on the Favorites button in the header of the Roster.
  • Padlock Icon: Indicates that the class requires permission to enroll.
  • Consent Requirements: If a class requires department consent, contact the relevant department. If instructor consent is needed, contact the instructor directly.
  • Syllabi: Access syllabi by clicking on the Syllabi button at the top of the Class Roster and searching or filtering for classes of interest. If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted for your NetID and password. Syllabi may also be accessed through the Browse, Favorites, and Scheduler pages in the Class Roster.

Utilizing the Scheduler Tool

The Class Roster includes a planning tool called "Scheduler" that allows users to build and visualize semester schedules. This tool, accessible with a NetID, helps in exploring different section combinations, adding personal events, reviewing class numbers and conflict information, downloading schedules to a personal calendar, and sharing schedules.

  3. Drag and Drop: Drag and drop sections on the schedule grid to explore different options. A "hand" icon will appear if other sections of a course are available.
  4. Review Panel: The Review panel will warn users of time conflicts and other scheduling issues. It also displays the number of courses, number of credits, class numbers, consent requirement information, and class status (open/closed/waitlist). Class status is refreshed at regular intervals.
  5. Share and Download: From the Share panel, users can share schedules or download them to a personal calendar. To share, check the “enable sharing” box and then click the Share Schedule button. For downloading to a calendar, use the .ics file.
