County College of Morris: Degree Programs and Opportunities
County College of Morris (CCM), a public community college located in Randolph, New Jersey, offers a variety of degree programs and opportunities for students seeking higher education. Founded in 1966 and opened to students in 1968, CCM has a rich history of providing accessible and quality education to the residents of Morris County and beyond. With a motto of "Sapere aude" (Dare to know), CCM encourages students to explore their potential and achieve their academic and career goals.
Academic Programs and Degrees Offered
CCM offers four main types of degrees: Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA), Associate of Science (AS), and Associate of Applied Science (AAS). These degrees cater to a diverse range of academic and career interests.
- Associate of Arts (AA): This degree is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor's degree in the liberal arts or humanities.
- Associate of Science (AS): This degree is tailored for students intending to transfer to a four-year college or university to major in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields.
- Associate of Fine Arts (AFA): The Associate of Fine Arts degree (AFA) focuses on developing an understanding of the specific arts disciplines of either design, dance, drama or visual arts through the intensive study of technique, history, theory and hands-on approaches in studio work and/or performance.
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS): The Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) is a specialized career-focused degree program that prepares students for entry into the job market.
CCM also offers a number of college-credit programs of varying lengths that lead to certificates. The programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals for self-development, occupational advancement or career transitioning. Students who follow a career ladder from certificate to degree expand their programs to include more general education requirements. Each program is specifically designed to apply the appropriate credits earned in certificate courses toward meeting the degree course requirements.
Students can earn degrees and certificates in 39 different fields. Popular programs include: Business Administration and Management, General, Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, and Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.
Dual Degree Options
CCM offers the opportunity for students to pursue a dual degree, allowing them to earn two associate degrees simultaneously. To earn a dual degree, one program is selected as the primary degree and another as the secondary degree. All requirements for both degrees must be completed with at least a 2.0 grade point average. Comparable courses from the primary degree may be used to meet the requirements of the secondary degree, but a minimum of 21 separate, additional CCM credits must be earned in the secondary degree. Since all requirements for both degrees must be met, more than 21 credits may be necessary in cases where the two degrees do not have many common, shared courses. However, a student will not be permitted to apply for a dual degree in Nursing and Allied Health.

Rutgers Partnership
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and County College of Morris (CCM), have established a partnership to bring area residents the opportunity to obtain Rutgers University baccalaureate degrees while staying close to home. This program allows CCM students to complete their first two years at CCM, and upon completion of an Associate Degree, transfer up to 60 credits into a Rutgers University bachelor degree program. A completed application must be submitted including transcripts, fees, and other supporting documentation for a decision to be made. Applicants to the Rutgers-CCM partnership should complete the standard Rutgers application found online. Rutgers off-campus programs are designed for students to complete all of their requirements locally at CCM. And, as such, students are expected to complete all of their coursework there. This program consists of Rutgers courses, taught by Rutgers faculty and graded by the same Rutgers standards as all other Rutgers students. Our students at CCM are earning a Rutgers University degree.
Campus and Student Life
CCM's campus features a mix of academic and recreational facilities. Cohen, DeMare, Emeriti and Sheffield halls comprise the main academic center of the campus. Other major college facilities include the LEED certified Landscape and Horticultural Technology building and greenhouses, the Music Technology Center, named in honor of Dr. Edward J. Yaw, the college's second president; the Student Community Center; Learning Resource Center; and the Health and Physical Education building. Parking is available free to both students and alumni at any of the student parking lots (parking decal required). Public transportation to the campus is available weekdays via New Jersey Transit local bus route 875, which stops in front of the student center.
The student body consists of more than 8,500 undergraduate students. County College of Morris is smoke-free and was one of the first public colleges to ban smoking entirely. CCM is a NJCAA Division II school. The Youngtown Edition is a student newspaper published continually at the County College of Morris since the opening of the school in Fall 1968. The newspaper is published biweekly and is distributed across the campus.
Admissions and Financial Aid
The school has an open admissions policy and offers credit for life experiences.
At County College of Morris, 31 percent of undergraduates receive grant or scholarship aid and the average scholarship or grant award is $4,563.

Tuition and Fees
The in-district tuition and fees for 2020-2021 were $5,520, in-state tuition and fees were $9,840, and out-of-state tuition and fees were $13,620. The application fee is $30.
