Create Real Impact Scholarship: A Creative Path to Ending Distracted Driving
The Create Real Impact Scholarship offers a unique opportunity for students to make a difference in their communities and earn educational grants. This scholarship, organized by Impact Teen Drivers, encourages young people to address the critical issue of reckless and distracted driving through creative expression.
Eligibility and Requirements
The Create Real Impact Contest Spring Awards in the categories of Graphic Design, Music, and Writing are open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia or DACA recipients between the ages of 14 and 22 years. The Challenge: Addressing Distracted Driving
At the heart of the Create Real Impact Scholarship is a challenge: to create an original work showcasing your idea for a SOLUTION or STRATEGY to end reckless and distracted driving. Distracted driving is anything that takes your eyes off the road, your hands off the wheel, your mind off your driving, or keeps your ears from being alert to your surroundings. The scholarship encourages participants to think critically about the various forms of distraction and develop innovative solutions to combat this dangerous behavior.
Participants are strongly encouraged to avoid the word “accident.” These are not just sad accidents but 100% preventable crashes.
Creative Categories
Applicants can produce content in one of four categories: video, music, graphic design or creative writing. This allows students with diverse talents and interests to participate and contribute their unique perspectives.

How to Apply
To apply for the Create Real Impact Scholarship, you'll need to:
- Create your original work that addresses distracted driving.

Educational grants are up for grabs each contest cycle, distributed among various categories (Grand Prize, schools/classroom participation, sports teams/clubs, Spanish Language entries etc.). Also note, sometimes additional entry methods are introduced, like entries through Instagram, so keep an eye out for any updates about the scholarship!
Important Considerations
- Entries focused on drinking alcohol or using drugs and driving will not be accepted.
- E) Not feature the brand, catchphrase, or logo of any organization, campaign, contest, etc.
- G) While extremely dangerous and highly illegal, being under the influence of alcohol or drugs while driving is NOT the focus of this contest.
