Undergraduate Scholarships

These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to qualified undergraduate students pursuing various fields of study.

Sandra Sebrell Bailey Scholarships: These scholarships support undergraduate students in general studies. To qualify, applicants must be a junior or senior woman who has been an initiated member for at least one year and is in good standing. Evaluation criteria include academic achievements, financial need, campus leadership and activities, and services to Delta Zeta. Preference is given to those members entering the field of education.
Charline Chilson Scholarships: These scholarships are for qualified graduate students focusing on science. Applicants must be Delta Zeta members in good standing, in their junior or senior year or as graduate students, have a high grade point in their major, show financial need, have a history of active leadership and participation in Delta Zeta activities, and have a commitment to a degree in science.

Arlene Davis Scholarships: These scholarships provide financial assistance to all qualified undergraduate students interested in aviation. Applicants must be initiated, active, continuing members entering their sophomore or junior year, enrolled in courses showing an interest in aviation, and have a 3.0 grade average.
Delta Zeta Undergraduate Scholarships: These scholarships are for initiated, active, continuing members of Delta Zeta entering their junior or senior year. Applicants must be outstanding in campus and chapter activities and have maintained at least a B average (3.0).
Edith Head Scholarships: These scholarships support students pursuing a career in design, production, and merchandising of textile and apparel products, and/or costume design. Lavonne Heghinian Scholarships: These scholarships are for initiated, active, continuing members of Delta Zeta in need of financial assistance and must have a 3.0 average. Evaluation is based on sorority service, campus involvement, and employment. Preference is given to Southern California applicants.
Houston/Nancy Holliman Scholarships: These scholarships are for junior or senior active, continuing members majoring in hearing and speech, audiology, or an allied field. Applicants must have academic achievements (maintaining a 3.0 average), campus honors and activities, and service to Delta Zeta.

Sarah Jane Houston Scholarships: These scholarships are for undergraduate Delta Zeta members in good standing with a 3.0 or higher grade point average, majoring in English or in related fields such as speech, debate, drama, theater, or education. Preference is given to applicants from Delta Zeta chapters in Illinois if all other qualifications are equal.
Huenefeld/Denton Scholarships: These scholarships support junior or senior initiated, active continuing members in need of financial help, seeking an undergraduate degree in child development/primary education or library science.
Betsy B. and Garold A. McKinley Scholarships: These scholarships are for junior or senior Delta Zeta members in good standing who have earned a B or better average at the conclusion of their sophomore year and have achieved a high level of service to the Delta Zeta Sorority and her college community.
Gail Patrick Charitable Trust Scholarships: These scholarships are for initiated, active, continuing Delta Zeta members in need of financial assistance, entering their junior or senior year.

Elizabeth Coulter Stephenson Scholarships: These scholarships are for those outstanding in campus and chapter activities, must have held, or must currently hold, an executive board position, must have at least 3.0 average, must have been adversely affected, or parents have been adversely affected by a disaster. Preference is given to initiated, active, continuing members of Delta Zeta in their junior or senior year who need financial assistance.
Thornberg/Havens Scholarships: These scholarships are for undergraduate and/or graduate Delta Zetas in good standing, initiated members in need of financial assistance who have shown outstanding campus and chapter activities, and have at least a 3.0 undergraduate average.

Graduate Scholarships

These scholarships are tailored to support Delta Zeta members pursuing graduate studies in various fields.

Elizabeth M. Gruber Scholarships: These scholarships support Delta Zeta graduate students working toward a degree in a liberal arts area. Preference is given to an Alpha Beta Chapter member or to a Delta Zeta attending a university in the Midwest.
Elsa Ludeke Graduate Scholarships: These scholarships are for initiated members in need of financial assistance with at least a B average (3.0), who are outstanding in undergraduate campus activities and in special service and leadership to Delta Zeta chapter.
Helen Woodruff Nolop Scholarship in Audiology and Allied Fields: This scholarship assists qualified female students pursuing a graduate degree in audiology or an allied field, who are initiated continuing members in good standing in a collegiate chapter with a 3.0 cumulative grade average.
Dorothy Worden Ronken Scholarships: These scholarships are for Delta Zeta graduate students working on a degree in education or business, who are initiated continuing members in good standing in a collegiate chapter with a 3.0 cumulative grade average. Preference is given to applicants from the Alpha Alpha chapter of Northwestern University.

General Scholarship Requirements and Application Details

Members may receive up to 75% of the cost of each continuing education program, with a maximum grant of $1,000. Applicants may apply more than once, but the total amount cannot exceed $1,000 in a member's lifetime. Applications are open year-round and are reviewed on a quarterly basis in January, April, July, and October for disbursement. Applications must be submitted no more than 90 days after completing the certification or educational program/course.

PSECU Scholarship: This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors attending a two- or four-year community college, college, or university in the fall. Applicants must be PSECU members by February 28, 2026, and have their own PSECU account. Students attending a technical school are not eligible. The award amount varies, and the deadline is February 28, 2026.
Dan and Vicky Hancock Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering Excellence: This scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing college degrees in the field of mechanical engineering. The award amount is $7,500, and the deadline is February 28, 2026.
Delete Cyberbullying Social Media Scholarship: This scholarship is for high school and college students committed to the cause of deleting cyberbullying. Selection is based on a written statement focused on creativity, content, and commitment to the cause. The award amount is $1,000, and the deadline is February 28, 2026.
Act of Kindness Scholarship: This scholarship supports students who are committed to helping others in their schools or communities. college or university. Vocational/technical, two-year, four-year, or graduate institutions are eligible. Applicants must be high school juniors or seniors, undergraduate students, or graduate students with a grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 system. The award amount is $1,000, and the deadline is February 28, 2026. Recipients must provide an official transcript confirming their reported GPA and proof of enrollment.
NAWIC Undergraduate Scholarship: This scholarship is for students currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program at a school in the United States who have at least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 3.0 GPA. The award amount is $1,000, and the deadline is February 28, 2026.
Shared Energy Future Foundation Trades Scholarship: This scholarship is for incoming, first-year students (or current first-year apprentices) in Western States with a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), as well as other disciplines related to energy. ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) Individual Awards: The ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) Awards introduce undergraduate students to pharmacology research. Their goal is to use authentic, mentored research experiences in pharmacology to heighten student interest in careers in research and related health care disciplines. If awarded, ASPET will provide a student stipend for a minimum of ten weeks participation in the program. Undergraduate students conducting pharmacology-related research including, but not limited to, students representing departments of pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, and/or biological chemistry are encouraged to apply for this program. Applications from those traditionally underrepresented in the biomedical sciences are particularly encouraged. The award amount is $4,600, and the deadline is February 26, 2026.
RELEVANCE Scholarship: This scholarship aims to help aspiring medical professionals focus on their studies and navigate the demanding and costly journey toward becoming healthcare leaders. Any high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student from a single-parent household may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to overcoming personal, financial, and academic obstacles. Medical or pre-med students are preferred, but aspiring nurses are also eligible. The award amount is $500, and the deadline is February 26, 2026.

University of Louisiana Monroe Scholarship

Recipient(s) must meet university standards for acceptance in the University of Louisiana Monroe. As an incoming freshman, recipient(s) must have a cumulative GPA in high school. The scholarship may be renewed up to a maximum of eight semesters for an incoming freshman only if a _ minimum GPA is maintained. Donors intent is to assist students who have a financial need as evidenced by the Student Aid Report (SAR) received by the university after the FAFSA process is complete each year and who might otherwise be unable to attend college without this scholarship. Students who are eligible for federal educational grants which do not have to be repaid, such as Federal Pell Grants, are not eligible for this scholarship, absent very extenuating circumstances.
