Navigating the Department of Education Transcript Request Process

Obtaining transcripts and diplomas from the Department of Education is a common need for individuals pursuing further education, employment, or personal record-keeping. High School Equivalency Diploma (GED) in Florida

The Florida Department of Education maintains official records for the High School Equivalency Diploma Program. Diploma and transcript services are provided by Parchment/GED Testing Service on behalf of the Florida Department of Education.

  • Ordering Duplicate Credentials: If you earned your diploma in Florida after January 1, 2014, you can order duplicate credentials in your GED® account at GED.com. After logging in, go to My Scores and select Order Duplicates. If you earned your diploma in Florida prior to January 1, 2014, you can request your duplicate credentials here.

  • Printed Diploma: A printed diploma can be ordered in your GED® account at GED.com for $10 plus shipping. After logging in, go to My Scores and select Order Duplicates.

  • Duplicate Transcript or Diploma Fee: There is a $20 fee charged for each duplicate transcript or diploma ordered. You will have a choice of an electronic or printed credential.

  • Verification: Verifications of Florida’s High School Equivalency Diploma earned by passing the GED® tests will only be provided by ordering from Parchment.

  • Security: The PDF documents are verified by GED Testing Service/Parchment each time they are opened using Blue Ribbon Security.

Ordering Transcripts Through Parchment

Parchment is a common platform for ordering transcripts, especially if you have already graduated.

  • NeedMyTranscript: If you have already graduated, you may be able to order from NeedMyTranscript by Parchment.

Important Considerations When Ordering

  • Recipient Information: Mistakes happen. However, due to privacy regulations, recipient information for an existing order cannot be edited. If the original sender, destination, or delivery method needs to be changed, a new order is required. Please carefully review before placing your order.

  • Order Cancellation: A transcript request may be canceled if it has not been fulfilled within 30 days and/ or if the sending institution is unable to fulfill the request as it was placed. Contact support for assistance with canceling an order that has not been fulfilled.

  • Download Link Expiration: Download links are available for 30 days, if your download link has expired a new order will be required.

  • Printed Order Issues: Note that for diplomas there is additional processing time.

Data Exchange Standards: FASTER and SPEEDE/ExPRESS

  • FASTER and SPEEDE/ExPRESS: FASTER and SPEEDE/ExPRESS are sets of predefined data formats used by educational institutions to electronically exchange student records and transcripts.

  • Florida's Policy: It is the policy of the Articulation Coordinating Committee that all student transcripts exchanged between Florida public schools, state colleges, and state universities, and the Florida Department of Education be accomplished via FASTER using the FASTER formats and the FASTER transmission system.

  • FASTER System Usage: The FASTER System is for use by institutions and school districts and is not for personal use by students.
