Devin Armani Booker, born on October 30, 1996, is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before his successful NBA career, Booker played one season of college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Early Life and High School Career
Booker was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, living with his mother, Veronica Gutierrez, who is of Mexican descent, while his African-American father, Melvin Booker, pursued a professional basketball career internationally. Despite the distance, he regularly visited his father during the summers.
Booker attended Moss Point High School in Mississippi, where he quickly established himself as a dominant player. As a junior, he was named the Mississippi State High School Gatorade Player of the Year. He concluded his three-year high school career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,518 points.
Booker's outstanding high school performance earned him recognition as a McDonald's All-American and a selection to play in the Jordan Brand Classic game. In the McDonald's game, he scored eight points, including two 3-pointers. He also contributed 11 points in the Jordan Brand game, going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.

At 20, he became the youngest player to score over 60 points in a game, finishing with a Suns franchise record 70 against the Boston Celtics. At 22 years old, he became the youngest player in NBA history with consecutive 50-point games.
