In 2016, he launched Neptune Bottle with his friend Caden Wiese, a company focused on promoting sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic bottles. To promote the business, Trahan created a YouTube channel where he documented his life as a student-athlete and promoted his company.
However, this dual pursuit soon ran into conflict with the NCAA's regulations at the time. The NCAA took issue with Trahan's YouTube channel, arguing that it was promoting his business while also documenting his athletic career. Trahan was presented with an ultimatum: choose between being an NCAA athlete and having a YouTube channel.

In June 2025, Ryan Trahan embarked on another ambitious and highly anticipated project: the United States Airbnb Challenge. states in 50 days, staying in a unique Airbnb in each one, with a goal of raising $1,000,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Trahan lives in Austin, Texas. In 2020, he married fellow YouTuber and content creator Haley Pham, with whom he frequently collaborates on videos and projects.
Trahan is a Christian. He came to the faith after initially trying to challenge his wife's beliefs while they were dating. In July 2020, he started to feel unfulfilled with life despite his earnings from his YouTube career. That led him to take "a lot less cynical approach towards asking questions." Trahan has stated that around that time he "did land on Jesus. I started developing a relationship with God…Now it is my source of joy. It is my source of love.
