The Accounting & Finance Rotational Program (AFRP) Internship
The summer Accounting & Finance Rotational Program (AFRP) internship serves as a preview of The Walt Disney Company's two-year AFRP. This internship is an opportunity for students interested in accounting careers to gain hands-on experience within the company.
The AFRP is a full-time, entry-level program designed to provide recent college graduates a cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning experience within the Controllership and Finance departments at Disney. AFRP Analysts participate in four distinct rotations designed to build key technical and leadership skills needed to succeed within the many businesses of Disney. Analysts will set goals for their program experience allowing them to develop, grow, and enhance the necessary skills to become strong accounting and finance professionals. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be considered for various opportunities in the accounting organizations within The Walt Disney Company.

Internship Structure and Placement
Summer interns are placed in one of the departments that typically host AFRP Analysts, including Corporate, Disney Entertainment, or Disney Experiences. Functional areas include Operational/Transactional Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit & Compliance, or Finance. The internship is designed to build key technical and leadership skills needed to succeed in each segment and the Company.
Key Responsibilities
Interns in accounting and finance roles at Disney can expect to be involved in various tasks, including:
- Maintaining financial reports.
- Monitoring and controlling costs and budgets.
- Tracking commitments from both internal and 3rd party consultants and contractors.
- Preparing budgets and performing financial sensitivity analysis where appropriate.
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of key internal controls.
- Developing working relationships with internal customers to understand their core business.
- Developing financial analysis to influence valuable decisions and alternatives/proposals for operational improvements.
- Working with the project team to establish budgets, costing strategies, and maintain EFC’s (estimated final costs).
- Setting up and maintaining WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and providing regular reporting and analysis management (e.g. cash flow analysis and forecasting, completion cost reporting, AOP).
- Identifying financial issues and presenting analyses in a format that clearly communicates results for management evaluation.
- Understanding accounting impacts to areas of responsibility that could affect financial performance and promoting financial controls throughout the organization.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for a Disney accounting internship, candidates generally need to meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current junior (rising senior during summer 2025) or Master's student graduating in 2026 pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance, Business, Economics or related, with a focus on Accounting.
- GPA: A GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred for applicants.
- Age: Be at least 18 years of age.
- Work Authorization: Possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Availability: Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week. The approximate dates of this internship are May/June through August/September 2025.
- Housing and Transportation: Able to provide own housing in the Glendale/Burbank, CA or Orlando, FL area; able to provide reliable transportation to/from work. - Skills: A combination of academic proficiency, quantitative skills, personal motivation, and advanced written and oral communications skills. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated digital literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Compensation and Benefits
The pay rate for accounting internships in California is $22 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
A $240 non-refundable program fee is due at time of acceptance. Three weeks prior to their arrival, if your student chooses to reside at Flamingo Crossings Village, they will be responsible for $227.
