The On-Field Competition
After submitting the application, twelve (12) top applicants will be chosen as finalists, then invited to partake in games at either the ACC, Big Ten, or SEC Championship Game on December 6, 2025.
Finalists for the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Scholarship will be invited to an on-field competition to see who can land the most footballs inside a large Dr Pepper can. If you are selected to participate in the final competition, Dr Pepper will cover the costs of transportation in a round-trip coach flight. If you live within 200 miles of the game site, the company will cover up to $200 in gas expenses with gift cards.
Nine grand prize winners (three per championship game) will be selected to compete in the December 2025 halftime event for a chance to win up to $100,000 in tuition. On the day before the Championship Game, Grand Prize Winners will compete in a preliminary event Competition associated with the designated championship Game to determine the two grand prize winners (AKA half-time contestants) that will compete at half-time. The preliminary half-time contestants have 30 seconds to throw as many footballs from the five-yard line through a hole located on or near the goal line. The two contestants who throw the most successful football throws move on to be the half-time contestants for their designated conference championship game. Three students who throw the most footballs into a large Dr Pepper will have their tuition paid for! It’s college football AND tuition giveaway season.
