Tenure-Track Openings

Assistant Professor of Music: Director of Choral Activities / Choral Music Education

Drury University's Department of Music and Theatre is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music to serve as the Director of Choral Activities, starting in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will be a skilled and collaborative choral music educator responsible for recruiting and leading a vibrant choral program within a liberal arts context.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and retain both music majors and non-majors for participation in choral ensembles.
  • Provide artistic and administrative leadership for the choral program, including three ensembles: Drury Chorale (60+ students, non-auditioned), Drury Singers (30+ students, auditioned), and Chamber Choir (12 students, auditioned).
  • Conduct rehearsals and performances, select and program repertoire, and lead biennial tours.
  • Teach courses in conducting, applied voice, music education (if qualified), and general education, based on departmental needs and candidate expertise.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students in music and music education.
  • Maintain an active profile of scholarly and/or creative work through performance, presentations, and publications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in music, music education, or a related field (Ph.D. or D.M.A.); ABD considered if the degree is conferred by August 2026.
  • Demonstrated excellence in choral conducting and rehearsal leadership.
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the post-secondary level or strong potential for success.
  • Record or promise of scholarly/creative productivity, including conference presentations, publications, and innovative programming.

Open Rank/Tenure Track Faculty in Electrical Engineering

The Engineering Department at Drury University is seeking faculty to join a team building new mechanical and electrical engineering programs. The university welcomed its first engineering students in Fall 2024 and is looking for faculty with a passion for teaching undergraduates and a willingness to teach a variety of undergraduate electrical engineering topics.

Preference will be given to candidates who have a background in and enthusiasm for teaching analog electronics, including teaching relevant software design tools and introductory PCB layout. Preference will also be given to candidates whose interest areas complement existing faculty strengths in signals and systems, controls, and numerical methods.

Requirements:

Principal Faculty, Physician Assistant Program

The Principal Faculty member reports directly to the Program Director and plays a key role in the collaborative planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and accreditation of the Physician Assistant (PA) Program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and instruct didactic coursework, including serving as Course Director for assigned courses.
  • Facilitate laboratory and small group sessions.
  • Participate in continuous curriculum review and evaluation.
  • Contribute to remediation and reassessment efforts.
  • Provide academic instruction and support as assigned.
  • Actively participate in ARC-PA accreditation processes, including program self-assessment, documentation, and reporting as directed by the program director.
  • Assist with data collection and perform statistical analysis to support accreditation and continuous quality improvement, as directed by the program director.
  • Serve on the Self-Assessment Committee and lead self-assessment initiatives, as directed by the program director.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluation of program mission, vision, program goals, program competencies, and effectiveness.
  • Advise students on academic progress and professional development.
  • Participate in the Student Progress Committee and Principal Faculty Committee.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection process for incoming students.
  • Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications for practice and teaching eligibility.
  • Participate in clinical practice and/or scholarly activity as appropriate and encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a PA required.
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in PA.
  • Must have current NCCPA Certification.
  • Must be eligible for Missouri state licensure as a PA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in teaching or demonstrated potential for excellence in instruction and presentation.
  • Proficiency with educational technologies and electronic learning platforms.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High level of initiative, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
