The Dupaco Foundation supports students with scholarships for college since its inception in 2011. High school seniors pursuing post-secondary education can now apply for renewable college scholarships from the Dupaco Foundation. This year, the foundation is awarding renewable scholarships. Ten $4,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend a 4-year college/university. Ten $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend a community college/trade school. The scholarship will be distributed in annual increments of $1,000 over two years. Students must establish financial need by providing documentation of their Student Aid Index (SAI) number from FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The Dupaco R.W. Hoefer Foundation, also known as Dupaco Foundation, is a tax-exempt private foundation described in Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The Foundation is a separate legal entity from Dupaco Community Credit Union and is governed by its own Board of Directors and officers. The Foundation was established in 2011 to honor the retirement of 47-year employee and long-time Dupaco Community Credit Union President and CEO, Robert W. “Bob” Hoefer. The Foundation is designed to carry on the Bob Hoefer tradition of providing personal financial assistance and coaching to help hardworking and financially prudent people recover from unforeseen life events and to increase their opportunities for financial stability.
Dubuque Community School District Scholarships
The Dubuque Community School District Scholarship Fund was created to support philanthropy in the schools by assisting donors in establishing post-secondary scholarships for graduating high school students. The only thing he knew for sure was that he was an artist. He had a need to create. The Hempstead Art Teachers saw his potential and passion for art. They encouraged Dan to enter an art competition at The University of Northern Iowa. Not only did Dan put together an inspired portfolio but he won the competition and the accompanying 4-year full-ride scholarship to UNI! He received a BA degree in art, and he completed a significant portion of his Masters of Fine Arts. Dan passed away unexpectedly during college. His loved ones take comfort in the fact that he was living out his true passion as an artist. The Miller family set up the Daniel J Miller $1,500 scholarship to honor a student who has a passion for art and the courage to pursue that passion.
- Don and Jean Johnson Memorial Scholarship: Don and Jean Johnson were the parents of three girls: Nancy, Donna, and Lisa. When Lisa was seven, her parents were killed in a mid-air plane collision. The purpose of the Don and Jean Johnson Memorial Scholarship is to support graduating seniors from the Dubuque Community School District in Dubuque, IA, who will pursue post-secondary education. The winner of this scholarship will receive a one-time $500 honorarium to be deposited with the college or university of their choice after enrollment. The award may be used for continuing educational expenses, including tuition, fees, books, room and board, and supplies directly related to the educational program in which the student is enrolled. - Entitled for and received direct special education academic services (reading, writing, math), physical or occupational therapy, services for the deaf and hard of hearing, visual impairment, or other health impairment at some point in his/her educational career as documented by an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Students who received speech and language services only are not eligible. Recipient Selection: A Scholarship Selection Committee shall be established by Dubuque Senior and Hempstead High Schools to review applications and render recommendations for distribution of awards.

Fidelity Bank & Trust offers an annual scholarship program to support students pursuing higher education at two-year colleges, four-year universities, or vocational schools.
