Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) provides students with access to a variety of software to support their learning. This article outlines how students can access and manage these resources, focusing on key platforms and procedures.

Accessing FOCUS

FOCUS is a crucial platform for students and families in DCPS. DCPS recommends using Google Chrome to access FOCUS, but Safari may be necessary for Mac users. To access FOCUS, follow these steps:

  1. Go to dcps.duvalschools.org.
  2. Hover over "Students & Families" in the top menu.
  3. Click on "Students & Families" in the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Focus from the list.

Detailed instructions for creating an account are available on the FOCUS page. Follow each step carefully to ensure proper account setup.

Software Ordering and Access Guarantees

School personnel can order software in bulk on behalf of their students. These students can then sign into the eStore and download their pre-paid software at their convenience.

To request a bulk order, complete the Bulk Order Request Form and submit it.

Access Guarantee Options

Kivuto sites offer access guarantee options for software downloads, ensuring continued access to purchased software and product keys.

Troubleshooting Download Issues

Several factors can interfere with software downloads. A download is considered successful when the item is completely downloaded. If you encounter issues, consider the following:

  • Network Connection: A weak or unstable network connection can cause corruption during transfers. Wireless connections may have latency issues.
  • Authorization: The account you are using may not be authorized to download software to your computer.
  • Security Programs: Active firewalls, antivirus, and antispyware programs can interfere with the download. Note: Disabling antivirus/antispyware software while connected to the Internet or to a local network can create security risks, and may leave your computer vulnerable to attacks.

Software Compatibility

When downloading software, pay attention to system requirements. Most 32-bit software can be run on a machine with a 64-bit OS, but 64-bit software can only run on a machine with a 64-bit OS. To find your system type, look under the heading "System" in your computer's settings.

Locating Installed Software (Windows 8/8.1)

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users may have difficulty finding the icon to launch newly installed software. Press the Start (or Windows) button on your keyboard to access the Apps screen.

Publisher Verification

During the download process, you may encounter a "The Publisher could not be verified" error message if you have anti-virus software installed. This is a common security measure.

Payment and Security

Most ELMS WebStores support payment by Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal. The platform employs security measures to protect your financial information. Every transaction is secured using SSL encryption, which changes all the information that you send into data that is extremely difficult to decipher. No personal information is stored. This protection is indicated by your browser's lock indicator.

Refunds and Exchanges

Unfortunately, there are NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES on ANY items ordered through Kivuto sites. All sales are final. Kivuto Solutions is not responsible for products incorrectly ordered due to similarities in name and/or product explanations.
