VPK Eligibility and Enrollment

Parents and guardians must obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility through the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) prior to registration. Students must be 4 by September 1st of the current school year. VPK/Title I classroom units are dependent upon sufficient student enrollment and the availability of federal funds for the new school year. School Board Policy 215 describes the expectations of the district for families who enroll a child in the program. Professional Development and Challenging Behavior Supports Program

ELCFV offers a comprehensive professional development and challenging behavior supports program, designed to enhance early childhood education through specialized training and resources. Specialized Training in Managing Challenging Behaviors

ELCFV provides specialized training in managing challenging behaviors, grounded in evidence-based practices, to create nurturing environments for all children. This training equips educators with strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviors effectively and promote positive social and emotional development in young children.

Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS)

Our programs include the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) for improving teacher-child interactions. By utilizing CLASS, ELCFV helps educators identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance their interactions with children, ultimately leading to better learning outcomes.

Understanding Developmental Milestones

As your child grows, they develop different skills and, in the process, reach what is known as developmental milestones. Developmental milestones vary for each age range and cover four categories of a child’s development: cognitive, communication/language, social and emotional, and fine/gross motor. Reaching developmental milestones is a part of growing up and something to be celebrated!

Tracking Developmental Progress

By completing regular developmental questionnaires, you can celebrate milestones as your child reaches them or receive support if your child is not yet meeting specific milestones. These questionnaires provide valuable insights into a child's developmental progress and can help identify any potential delays or areas of concern.

Community Engagement and Collaboration

ELCFV actively seeks opportunities to engage with the community and collaborate with other organizations.
