ENMU offers both Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees in History. The BA in History requires foreign language proficiency, while the BS in History does not. ENMU is committed to providing students with the resources and support they need to succeed. When students join the program, ENMU wants to make sure that they have all the resources and advice to successfully complete their degree. The Golden Student Success Center (GSSC) offers online databases, journal articles, and eBooks.
The Golden Library provides access to a vast collection of materials. The general collection is located on the 1st floor, while the Southwest materials are housed in Special Collections on the 2nd floor. Materials are organized by Library of Congress call number. The Archives include not only minutes, reports, and other text documents relating to Eastern through the years, but also maps, photographs, and records of different departments. All theses can be checked out in print, but this is an ongoing digitization project to increase digital access. Within this department, there are books, journals, and maps about the American Southwest. There are also many primary sources such as photographs, scrapbooks, and organizational records in archival materials.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
ENMU is dedicated to helping students finance their education. In addition to University-wide grants, loans, and scholarships, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers 37 scholarships for current students, several of which are available for ENMU students who have declared history as their major. More than $22 million in financial assistance was awarded to ENMU students last year.

ENMU is home to several unique resources that enhance the study of history, including the Blackwater Draw Museum, which houses artifacts from the Clovis Site, and the Roosevelt County Historical Museum, founded in 1940.
The Golden Library's Special Collections houses Southwest materials, including books, journals, maps, photographs, scrapbooks, and organizational records. The collection also includes interviews that focus on a wide variety of topics including: women’s rights, homesteading the Temperance Movement, Native American culture and history, World War I & II.
Additional Programs at ENMU
ENMU also offers a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) with a Concentration in Religion to some students with college credits or certain associate degrees. When you study sociology at ENMU, you'll learn about the social forces and influences that structure human activity and experience. This discipline gives particular attention to configurations of groups and relationships as well as routines of everyday and organized social life. If you are interested in criminal justice at ENMU, you'll study the nature, types, causes, conditions and consequences of crime in society.

Are you trying to find words to use to find a specific topic? Older items may use different terminology. You can look up subject and names in the Library of Congress linked data service. Do a search for Billy the Kid, and you will find that the authorized form of his name in records for books is Billy, the Kid.
