Education Foundation of Kenosha: Cultivating Youth Through Golf and Scholarships
The Education Foundation of Kenosha (EFK) plays a vital role in supporting the educational and extracurricular pursuits of Kenosha's youth. Through strategic partnerships and dedicated programs, the EFK provides opportunities for young people to thrive, both on and off the golf course. This article highlights the EFK's impact on youth golf programs and its commitment to providing scholarships for higher education.
Expanding Youth Golf Opportunities
The BGC Sports program, in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha's Golf Foundation, has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting and expanding youth golf programming. This partnership provides transformative opportunities for the young people of Kenosha. The BGC Sports program served 106 youth through various golf programs, marking the highest summer golf participation in the past three years. The X-Golf indoor program experienced significant growth, nearly doubling its engagement from 20 youth golfers in 2023 to 39 in 2024.
The success of the golf season is attributed to the dedicated team of instructors and volunteers. Financial support remains essential to sustaining and growing these life-changing programs. The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive space where youth can learn, grow, and thrive. One participant shared, “I learned how to hold the golf club correctly and how to position my body before swinging. At first, I couldn’t hit the ball, but I got better every week.
