The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program that provides grants for study, research or professional development opportunities between Australia and the world. Types of Endeavour Scholarships
There are majorly three types of Endeavour Scholarships given by the Australian government. These scholarships cater to various academic and professional levels, each with specific eligibility requirements and benefits.
Endeavour Vocational Education and Training (VET) Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for non-Australian students seeking to undertake vocational education and training at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree level. The courses are directly related to a trade, occupation or ‘vocation’ in which the applicant participates. It includes a tuition grant of up to $131,000 for non-Australians to undertake vocational education at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level in any field in Australia for up to two and a half years. Tuition is paid pro rata ($6,500 per semester). The Endeavour VET Scholarship supports studies in any field, providing a tuition grant of up to AUD 131,000.
Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship
The Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship is awarded to international students who wish to pursue a postgraduate qualification at the Master’s or PhD level in any discipline in Australia for up to two years for a Master’s and four years for a PhD. This scholarship supports international students pursuing Master's or PhD degrees in any field. The scholarship includes a tuition grant of up to $140,500 for international student to undertake an Australian Masters Degree, or $272,500 for the PhD in any field. International Endeavour leaders pursuing postgraduate qualifications (Master’s or PhD) are eligible for tuition expenses of up to AUD 30,000 (INR 16.40 Lakh) per calendar year, paid on a pro-rata basis up to the maximum study/research length.

Endeavour Research Fellowship
This fellowship is for non-Australian postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows to undertake short-term research towards an overseas Masters, PhD or postdoctoral research in any field, tuition grant of up to $24,500, for a duration of four to six months. Applicants must be nominated by their host organisation. The Endeavour Research Fellowship offers a tuition grant of up to $24,500 for a duration of four to six months.
Endeavour Executive Fellowships
The Endeavour Executive Fellowships provides financial support towards professional development opportunities of up to $18,500 for professional development for a duration of one to four months. This program is aimed at high achievers in business, industry, education or government for non-Australians and Australians. This fellowship targets high achievers in business, industry, education, or government, providing up to $18,500 for professional development activities lasting one to four months. The professional development activity must be vocationally useful while not being geared toward an immediate commercial outcome as its purpose.
General Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships, applicants must meet several criteria:
- Applicants must be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their program
- Applicants must be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country
- Applicants must commence their proposed programme after January 1 and no later than November 30 of the year following the time of application. Applicants who have already commenced or will commence their intended program prior to that are not eligible to apply.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that their application and supporting documentation is submitted by the closing date.
Financial Coverage and Benefits
The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships provide extensive financial support to recipients. Tuition costs, as indicated in the tables, are paid pro rata for the entire study/research time. Tuition fees of up to AUD 15,000 each semester are paid to accepted candidates. Individual short and long-term Endeavour Leaders who are successful will receive a stipend of AUD 3,000 per month (up to a maximum of AUD 36,000 per calendar year paid pro-rata up to the maximum category duration).

The scholarships typically cover tuition fees, travel allowances, monthly stipends, health insurance, and establishment costs. However, all programme fees that exceed the recipients’ Endeavour benefits are the responsibility of the recipients.
Application Process
The Endeavour Online application system must be used to submit applications. A university offer is a prerequisite for submitting your application. To apply online go to the ‘Online Australia Scholarships Information System’ (OASIS). When you register online, you will be required to answer some questions to establish your eligibility. You will then be given a unique registration number, username and password. Completed hard copy application forms and supporting documentation must be submitted by the deadline specified by your country. Check the open & close dates for your country, and select your country of citizenship/residency from the list of participating countries for specific information on eligibility, priority areas and how to apply.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for all categories of the Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the same. Statement in support of the applicant’s community service is considered.
Additional Scholarship Opportunities in Australia
Besides the Endeavour Scholarships, numerous other scholarships and awards are available to international students in Australia. Just about every university in Australia offers scholarships to International students.
University-Specific Scholarships
Many Australian universities offer their own scholarships to attract international students. For example, the University of Sydney offers scholarships to international students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. Those who want to study their undergraduate courses in University of Sydney to earn their degree, are eligible for this scholarship. However, not all the undergraduate student can apply for this. Only those students who are international students and those who are enrolled in Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) are eligible for this scholarship award. The benefit of this scholarship goes to students of Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA). This scholarship is offered once a year. This scholarship is organised by ACER. So, to apply for this business student scholarship, you have to apply through ACER. The application process is not complex. All international students who apply to study at Bond University will be considered for an International Student Scholarship.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) program focuses on improving the quality of Australian research. IPRS scholarships are open to international students of all countries (except New Zealand) and are available for a period of two years for a research masters degree or three years for a research doctorate degree.
RMIT International Foundation Studies Scholarship
If you are an international student commencing Foundation Studies at RMIT, this scholarship could pay a contribution towards your tuition fees. The scholarship pays $4,000 towards your tuition fees. You need to submit your completed enrolment & scholarship application form and sent it to RMIT International. This scholarship is for undergraduate students.
Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarships
The Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarships covers tuition fees for up to three years for doctoral students and up to two years for research masters students. New applicants must follow the process for submitting an online application for a higher degree by research program, which also includes a section for scholarship application. Please note, unless the scholarship round is officially open the online application form will only be assessed for candidature.
University of Canberra (UC) International High Achiever Scholarship
This scholarship is targeted towards current international student school leavers who achieve a ‘raw’ ATAR of 99+ and who have accepted an offer of a place in their first undergraduate degree at the University of Canberra. A current school leaver, in this instance, is someone who has completed an Australian Year 12, the International Baccalaureate, or the New Zealand NCEA Level 3 in the past 2 years prior to UC study. No application is required for the scholarship. All eligible applicants will be considered. Applicants meeting the criteria will receive a separate letter of offer for the scholarship.
International Undergraduate Fee Remission Scholarships
There is no separate application for the international undergrad scholarship program. All eligible students who have received an unconditional offer for admission to an undergraduate degree will automatically be considered. International Undergraduate Fee Remission Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and allocated on a competitive basis subject to quotas by course and region.
Maintaining Scholarship or Fellowship Status
Recipients must adhere to certain conditions to maintain their scholarship or fellowship status. Any change in the citizenship or permanent residency status of a recipient may necessitate the termination or revocation of the scholarship or fellowship. Candidates are not permitted to receive any other Australian Government-supported scholarship or fellowship benefits (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government) throughout their programme. When it is deemed appropriate, the Department may temporarily halt a recipient’s programme. To decide whether they are permitted to work for pay throughout their programme, recipients must request permission from their host organisation and confirm the terms of their visa.
