Understanding Test Format and Scoring
While taking the test, the types of questions you'll see include multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, drop-down, and extended response. Each subject has a possible score range of 100-200 points, with a passing score of 145. You only need to get less than half of the answers correct to pass and get your diploma.

What’s the difference between GED Academy and HiSET Academy?The GED Academy will help you prepare for the GED test, and the HiSET Academy will help you prepare for the HiSET test. Where you live determines which test you should take to earn your high school equivalency.
The HiSET pass score is based on a national study of high school juniors and seniors and indicates that 60 percent of graduating high school students would pass the HiSET exam. The HiSET exam is made up of 5 sections, but you don't have to take all of them at once. You can space them out however works best for you. The Value of a High School Equivalency Certificate
Without a high school equivalency certificate, getting a job or promotion can be very challenging. A high school equivalency certificate can open doors to jobs, promotions, and job training. Full time workers with a high school diploma earn $10,000 to $20,000 a year more that workers without a diploma. A high school equivalency certificate opens the doors to trade schools, community colleges, and universities. The skills learned for the high school equivalency tests will prepare you for college level work.
GED vs. High School Diploma
What is the difference between a GED® and high school diploma?A high school equivalency certificate shows that you've passed a high school equivalency test (GED or HiSET) and demonstrated the skills equivalent to a high school graduate. A regular high school diploma is earned by completing the curriculum and requirements of an accredited high school. Some states offer an Adult High School diploma. Check with your state’s Adult Education Department for more information on where to test for your GED.
It is always better to graduate from high school and obtain your high school diploma.
