Understanding Evangel Christian Academy Tuition and Financial Aid

With a student population of 467 and a student-teacher ratio of 9:1, ECA aims to provide a classical Christian education. A significant aspect for families considering ECA is understanding the tuition costs and available financial aid options. This article provides a detailed overview of ECA's tuition structure, fees, payment plans, and financial assistance programs.
Tuition and Fees
While specific tuition amounts may vary depending on the grade level and are subject to change each school year, ECA provides a comprehensive breakdown of associated costs and payment options. It's worth noting that supplies are included in elementary tuition.

Senior Early Graduation Fee
Sr. Early Graduation fee is $1,000. This fee, in addition to fees and 1st semester tuition, applies only to seniors graduating at mid-term and requires approval from the High School Principal before enrolling for the senior school year.
Other Expenses
Besides tuition, families should also consider other potential expenses:
- Before/after care is available through the Evangel Learning Center for elementary-aged students.
- Extracurricular activities such as sports, band, spirit groups, and field trips incur separate costs.
- School lunches, school supplies, and school uniforms (available at Shreveport Gymnastics) are additional expenses.
- School pictures are optional.
Payment Plans
ECA offers several payment options to accommodate different family budgets:
- Full Payment: Pay the full tuition and fees by August 1st. A "Prompt Pay" incentive offers $200 off each student's tuition for paying full tuition and fees by August 20, 2025.
- Semester Payments: Two semester payments are payable, with half of the tuition and fees due by August 1st and the remaining half by December 15th.
- Monthly Payments: Monthly payments are facilitated through Blackbaud Tuition Management. Payments are automatically withdrawn from a debit/credit card, checking, or savings account on either the 5th or 20th of each month. The number of available monthly drafts depends on when the enrollment contract is signed and the chosen withdrawal date. Account information is required at the time of enrollment.
A processing fee of 3.95% is applied to all credit/debit card payments.

Important Notes Regarding Discounts and Incentives:
- There is a maximum discount combination of 15% per student if a family qualifies for more than one discount.
- Some limitations and restrictions may apply to these incentives.
- Tuition incentives and discounts cannot be combined with tuition assistance, Arete, ACE or LA GATOR scholarships, or ECA staff benefits.
Tuition Assistance
ECA is committed to partnering with families who value classical Christian education and strives to make it accessible through tuition assistance (TA). TA is available for the Kinder Bridge program and grades K-12 but not for Pre-K.
Applying for Tuition Assistance
All families applying for Evangel Tuition Assistance (TA) must apply via FACTS. All three forms of TA (ACE, Parents Challenge, and Evangel) are “need-based,” although to varying degrees. While some families may not qualify for ACE or Parents Challenge, they may qualify for TA directly from Evangel.
External Tuition Assistance Programs
ECA partners with external organizations to provide additional financial aid options:
- The Alliance for Choice in Education (ACE): This privately funded program assists lower-income families in enrolling their children in private schools. Standard ACE award amounts are $2,000 for K-8 (including Kinder Bridge) and $3,000 for high school, and are capped at 50% of the private school tuition. ACE Scholarships are independently administered by the ACE organization, and awards are subject to ACE criteria and eligibility requirements.
- Parents Challenge: This organization empowers low-income parents by providing financial, informational, and personal resources to choose the best education for their children. Parents Challenge offers partial tuition scholarships and grants for students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Tuition Donation Credit Program
New families requesting assistance must initially apply through the Tuition Donation Credit Program: ARETE.
LA GATOR Scholarships
Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity to Rise - Louisiana’s first Educational Scholarship Account (ESA) - Scholarship that provides parents with an account that allows them to customize their child’s education.
